Yao might have a net worth of 100M if he played for NY. Who knows.
Without Yao, Rockets is no longer a "Asia team" i think.

Now with Jeremy on Board, we might regain that perspective:grin:

With Melo in the team, there will be no room for Jeremy Lin to perform.

In another word, the Knicks gave him an opportunity to shine, but if he continued to stay there, he'll be buried there.

I think it's a rather samrt move! (to join the rockets here)

"But my main goal in free agency was to go to a team that had plans for me and wanted me."

Lin got exactly what he wanted.

Shoe deals and endorsements have been a part of sports for a long time, but when did they become THE factor in player decisions? Kudos to Hakeem for turning down the big shoe deal waaayyy back, kudos to Yao for being a good human, and kudos to Lin for wanting to play basketball.

This writer thinks NY is the center of the world when in reality the Knicks are a sorry ass franchise. Maybe Lin did not want to play in Houston initially but that in no way means he is in a worse situation. For one thing he does not have to play with a piece of **** ball hog Carmelo Anthony , who is in borderline NBA shape. He is better off in Houston if they get Howard or even if they don't get Howard. He gets to either lead a bunch of young guys or Play with one of the top pick and roll big men in the game. How is that worse than playing with Carmelo Freaking Anthony ?

I hate all these reporters and fans and I seriously believe what adds to the fire of him leaving NY: he's asian. The blatant racism is despicable and I spit on all the fans and players who are jealous of Lin getting paid!!

That was a Forbes article? Sounded like some teenage Knicks fan's blog page!

Forrest Gump...I mean George Bush (43) graduated from Harvard Business School. He went there after the Univ. of Texas turned him down repeatedly for its Law School. This despite his father's connections.

Wow this guy is getting raped in the comments.

Seriously though. He compared Charlotte to Houston? I'm not one to get mad but seriously how New York centric and ignorant about the rest of the country can you be?

Other than NY, LA or SF Houston is CLEARLY the best city for Lin even from a marketing standpoint. Being Yao's heir in Yao's town? With all the contacts and relationships that the Rockets have in China? I'm not Chinese but I go there often and I'll tell you that NBA viewership has dropped off significantly but millions (hundreds of millions?) of Chinese still consider Houston "their" franchise.

Setting aside the China factor, Houston is a franchise that's probably the most like Lin... basically the smartest franchise out there. Even from a branding/identity POV it's a pretty nice synergy. Plus the 22 game winning streak, the scrappy identity etc... it will make sense to NBA fans. There's so much that Les can do with all that even in the US independent of the asian angle.

Saying Lin to Houston is a dumb and will basically destroy his marketability... wow just... ignorant.

Typical. Get any chance to spew your idiotic opinions. I get enough of this on network tv, movies, music, etc....

Keep the talk on the Rockets. Not stupid political view points. If you want to talk politics go to an apptopriate site.

God I can't stand the "New York is the center of the world" mentality. Anything that brings the city and its worshipers down a peg is okay in my book.

I guess the same way you can tell who "the smartest person in the NBA" is.

    And that's a fact. ;)

Take it from me, I've worked with several Harvard grads in my day, and trust me, Jeremy Lin is nowhere close to that.
