Being an Asian-American means he'll be a career underdog. Yao wasn't disrespected because he was tall and remarkably smooth for a big man. Unless Lin hits 82 game winners in a row he will always be disrespected.
Yao was straight from China. He wasn't really very good when he first started. He had a lot to learn from basketball and culturally. Lin's got the culture part down . <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4RKpnAkmE9o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> It took Yao lots of time to get to this: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/mFppQfs75Ro" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
personally, I see a great opportunity (on/off court) that would fill a great need (on court). I guess people want to see an asian for judgement purposes.
I made that choice available: He didn't diss the Rockets and will probably not have a Dynex TV translation: he's accepted the offer to be the starting point guard of the rockets and will own a nicer tv than the last guy who the rockets offered money to be the point guard
Might was call this place lin fans bbs. All these YOF's who left are coming back and ever second thread is about Lin. lol
He got combination of poise, intelligence, toughness and leadership that is perfect for this young team. As a PG he'll be the leader they look up to in the battlefield and he showed he can fulfill that role.
damnit tinman...I haven't watched any yao stuff in years because its too depressing realizing what we had.
Agreed...but now that he is a Rocket, there will be never-ending Lin threads here. I was already sick of them from last year. Would rather discuss Rocket's ball, not Jeremy's new pair of glasses. Guess some people just have a need to worship.
