Orlando is shaking trees and hoping a better deal falls out. That's fine. I think it's kinda neat that Dwight Diva is going to be squirming all Summer, but I also wish the Rox would just move the #### on and 1. trade Kevin, 2. find a backup point, and 3. find a backup rim protector and call it a day.
shake your ass(ets), show me what you're working with! If I was Orlando's GM, I'd just keep bizzaro and make him cry til free agency hits.
First a side note: The Rockets trade rumors don't get a lot of run in the media because (A) the Rockets do not reside in LA or NY and (B) the Rockets front office are generally extremely secretive about their plans. With that out of the way, common sense would suggest there are only two possible answers to the question. 1. Our assets were worthless in the first place and Orlando never gave a crap about them. Hence all the rumors regarding the Rockets are BS spread to raise another team's offer. or 2. We have the best pieces but Morey isn't willing to give everything, so Orlando has to look for other legit offers so he can gain some leverage in negotiations. Not to mention as the Orlando GM, it's his job to always look for potential deals when available.
The reason why the Rockets will ultimately end up with Bynum/Howard, is that they are the only team capable of offering the Magic future cap relief, young talent, and draft picks, while not requiring the guarantee of an extension.
Orlando is only posturing, and probably just accommodating discussion generated by the Lakers. By all accounts Houston is still the front runner by far and Hennigan/Morey have just decided to see what happens with Lin/Asik until firming up final trade offers. If we are going to get Dwight (which I believe we are) it will be after the Asik deal is done.
We finally got some rookies with value now.. And they confident and playing with a chip on they shoulders... We are in a great position... let the hating begin!
