I would like them to get whichever one will stay long term in Houston AND will both play great AND stay healthy.

Chances are (the way the Rockets' luck's been) whichever one they get won't do any of those things...

A lot of that has to do with Dwight being a garbage free throw shooter. Bad ft shooter= fouled more.

Bynum = a career full of injuries vs. Howard = this recent one (which could be serious)
Bynum = an idiot on the court (technical fouls) vs. Howard = a flake off the court
Bynum = can he lead a team? vs. Howard = we know he can lead a team to the playoffs
Bynum = said he'd sign here (but don't believe it until it happens) vs. Howard = might have said he'll only sign at Brook (don't believe he'll walk away from money)
Bynum = might attract other FAs vs. Howard = WILL attract other FAs

    Howard by a mile

Bynum, as a FA in 2013.

I am lost as to why Morey is so determined to have them on our team NOW.

Keep our nice pieces, take this year to develop, get ANOTHER HIGH lottery pick (top 5) and attract one in free agency.

We have no better chance at keeping one if we get them this year. Not to mention less a chance when we gut our team for them!

Neither one of them is going to sign an extension.

Both of them, however, would re-sign once free agency hits.

So, I honestly don't care. It depends on the price of each.

Lets just sign Omer "Iron" Asik and roll with what we got. If we make the playoffs, we'll still have the Raps lotto pick, if we don't we'll have two. We can then, either package up a S&T for one of these guys or straight up sign one as a free agent. The Lakers have NO picks after getting Nash.

Which ever one costs less really.

I was in the Howard or bust camp early but If we can trade for Bynum and trade away less for him I'm all for it now. He's young enough to help rebuild with Lin.

easy. Bynum, he's far better offensively, just as good or slightly below Howard in defense, and is on record saying he'll sign an extension if coming here, its a no brainer

To be honest, I have reservations for both. Howard doesn't want to be here. Bynum is too much of a headcase to be your franchise player. And both have injury concerns.

Just as good or slightly below Howard on d? Howard is a 3x defensive player of the year!!!

This is exactly why I say go after Howard as best as you can WITHOUT gutting the team.

I'm cool with losing Morris, Patterson, Martin + Picks for Howard or Bynum.

30 mil to an extra year will likely lead both of them to sign an extension AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

With Howard in specific, you have no chance to sign him on the open market. No Bird rights = No Howard. Do it now.

My sentiments exactly! Why THIS year? Possibly two top ten draft picks next year. We could be the next OKC. I'd much rather have this scenario play out.
