One reason why Yao won’t pass Vince and Kobe on all-star vote

    I talked with some friends in China over the weekend. They told me a lot of people there, especially guys in colleges (there are over 3,000 colleges in China), have been actively voting for Yao. But the thing was Kobe and Vince are established superstars for them and they did not know many other players in league. They told me they had to fill all positions to submit a valid vote. So they did help to vote Yao over Shaq as center. But their votes might be just like: Kobe, SF and Yao in west and VC, TMac or AI in east. Again and again and again…..
    When Yao gets one vote, most probably Kobe and VC also get one. So they also helped Kobe and VC. Now it is too late. (Too bad, I also voted for Kobe, VC and TMac many times before I realized I should not do that. Mm…..)

    BTW, Chinese (in China) are too humble and hard on themselves. They told me they felt uneasy or a little “guilty” that media made Yao such a big thing. Most of them still think Yao is just a little bit better than Zhizhi Wang. They hope Yao stay as a HUMBLE POTATO on the team. They have some doubt in Yao’s success here.

    Well I don't vote for Vince and Kobe at all. Ask them to vote MJ (many Chinese fans should only recognize him) and other current/former Rockets players alongside Yao and Francis.

    I am still wondering if I can vote for Dream. He is not on ballot but maybe can write in.

    So do you think LJ will lead next year?

    I think it's a lock, LJ will break the NBA count machine next year. Don't get me wrong, I love the Yao and he's my choice between the two, but LJ might eclipse both Vinsanity and Kobe in his rookie season!

    No way. No one outside of America knows LJ. Come on he will never have those China votes YM enjoys. ;) And yeah I believe that both Kobe and Vince needed a few years and many ads before they were really recognized worldwide.
