For who? Horry and cap filler?

    That would make no sense.

Well Horry is in his last year of his contract, so we could use him and free up cap space. Walker just signed a two year deal I believe. Anyhow, where is the link for this/.'

I searched the insider site and I couldn t find anything

Mo Taylor is just fine where he is. Why is everybody so eager to change a winning team by giving away a really solid player to a struggling competitor?

We can not afford to trade MoT right now and besides the Lakers have absolutely nothing that would help our team.

EG is just 20 and still not close to being a finished product.

With KT already gone, trading away MoT would leave our team way to thin at PF.

Outside of Kobe or Shaq who on that team would come in and start or even make an impact off of the bench? Horry? Fox?

MoT's value to our team is very high with KT gone. If we trade him we damn sure better have someone to take his place at the power forward spot and I am not talking about Samaki Walker.

Amen, Crash...MoT is very valuable to the Rox. As much as I'd like to have Horry (wow 94 and 95 were awesome!!!) MoT is too valuable. Even considering his contract.

Question: We would still be over the cap if we move Taylor, right? So even if we move him, we haven't improved our capacity to bring in a free agent in the offseason. Can you still say MCE, boys and girls?

Actually, afford isn;t a good word to use there...since the fact is, we can't afford to keep Mo on the bench making 8 million a year. Should I assume that you think Mo is helping our team (outside of the Minny game)?

    :D

say what you want about horry and fox....but both of them produce more and earn less

There are CBAers that could come in and give us the power forward production that we have been getting from Mo

Mo Taylor for Horry would be great for us. I think we could really use Horry here, and Mo Taylor would most likely get more playing time in LA.

    What was I thinking!

    1. Of course there are CBA players that could come in and give us the type of performance that MoT gave us against T-Pups.

    2. Once again I bow to your superior wisdom of thinking that Fox and Horry (two small forwards) are better values for our team even though we are stocked at small forward.

    3. Gladd to see you are more concerned about Les Alexanders wallet than Rockets wins.

I don't think the Rockets will make any salary cap moves. With Steve's contract, I doubt we'll get under the cap for a long time. Only eliminating Taylor AND Cato could get that accomplished and, with the potential re-signing of Posey and a new contract for Griffin in the next couple of years (nevermind Mobley), the cap has become irrelevant for us.

The only reason you care about the cap is if you feel like you really need to go out and make a big move in free agency. It would appear the Rockets have what they want currently in place.

which part of OUTSIDE OF THE MINNY GAME did you have trouble comprehending? I won't bother asking you to give me another game where Mo actually contributed to a win

Didn't Horry play some 4 in the 2 championship seasons? I'm pretty sure he at least defended the opposing 4's (ie. Malone, Barkley etc) Needless to say...if they make less money and give us less of a cap hit, they are better values. Mo doesn't give us anything that those guys couldn't give us...and in Horry's case, the big game experience is invaluable.

Please tell me how getting rid of Mo and saving money while doing so is not caring about wins.

Let me also say this...I don't know much about how the salary cap works...so when I say that we would be saving money, I could be dead wrong....however, if their contract is up sooner and is for less money, I'm pretty sure it helps us in the long run capwise.

If we can bring in players that produce more and make less, it would just make sense to me to do so.

A trade involving Mo Taylor with the LA Lakers will only make sense to me if a third team is involved. But do we really need to make a trade?
