I like Parsons too, but I would throw him in a trade for Howard in an instant. He's a nice player, but he isn't going to get a whole lot better than he already is. Morey is very good at finding solid 2nd rounders. So, I am going to have to disagree with the OP on this one.
It would be awesome to keep Parsons, but if Parsons is the key to acquiring Dwight Howard you have to let him go. No role player should ever keep the team from getting the star we need. The people who are clammoring for Morey to keep Parsons or Lamb or White are probably the same people who have been ripping Morey for not landing us a star yet. Stars are not free.
Chandler is ELITE defensively.. If we are going to compete in the western conference we need a player that can check Durant all series long. He's got the length and defensive IQ to contain KD
but who else will dunk on Blake Griffin??? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_GFsFGlbiBg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Keep Parsons, Lamb and DMo. Besides it would be IDIOTIC to trade for Howard before the trade deadline. Waiting to the deadline will allow us to see if DH is the same player post back surgery which is no guarantee.
I see Parsons as an expendable asset. He sure is good on defense but he is not a once in a decade player like Howard. We could most likely draft another "Parsons" after we trade him to the Magic...
He can't check Durant...Durant would most likely drop 40-50 points on him. He was able to drop 30+ on Lebron in the finals...
Do you think Morey would even consider trading for him for only a half season rental? That would mean no chance at the play-offs using the rookies in the beginning and far less time to convince him to resign.
You'd think all these garbage rookies are the second coming of Olajuwon with all the calls to save them. None of them are ever going to approach Superman even in their wildest dreams. I for one couldnt care less who and what we trade for Dwight.
If he is smart he will wait. Some of you just completely dismiss the back issue. The back issue is critical. I speak from experience that he may never be the same after back surgery even if he has full doc clearance. Full doc clearance means you are healthy as you are going to get not that you are exactly the same as you were before the injury. It means he is cleared to try to be the same player he was with no guarantees he will ever be. Waiting until the deadline let watch him play and know he is okay. you do realize if we trade for him now he may not be able to play at the start of the season. Unless we get him dirt cheap, which we know will not happen, it is not worth risking a bunch of promising young players, high draft picks, and taking on bad contracts in the hopes he will be the same player he was before his back injury. Not to mention that waiting also keeps us from listening to his b****ing and whining for half a season.
Starter. Best defender on the team. He beat the thunder twice by not allowing KEVIN DURANT to score. the leagues leading scorer the past three years.
