The Rox have three back-to-backs (out of 12 remaining in January including 4 in 5 nights ending Saturday). Our upcoming opponents have four: 10 Fri @ Atlanta - no back-to-back 11 Sat Denver - yes back-to-back 13 Mon Boston - yes back-to-back 15 Wed Phoenix - yes back-to-back 17 Fri L.A. Lakers - no back-to-back 20 Mon @ San Antonio - no back-to-back 21 Tue @ Dallas - no back-to-back 24 Fri Detroit - no back-to-back 26 Sun @ Chicago - no back-to-back 27 Mon @ Memphis - no back-to-back 29 Wed Dallas -no back-to-back 31 Fri Minnesota - yes back-to-back A dozen W's sound pretty good. 9 realistic?
I will be happy that if we go 8-4, even 7-5 is good considering the opponents we play. 7-5 will put us at 26:19, about #5-6 in the western conference.
We should win the game against Atlanta tomorrow night and that would give us our second 3 game winning streak with our first successful road trip of the season. That would be a nice little bit of momentum heading back to Houston for another good home stand. A win against Denver to start our home stand is a game we should win and that would give us our first 4 game winning streak of the season. This is a very good scenario heading into the next three games. Boston, Phoenix and LAL will all be tough home games but we have played good teams very well at home. There is no excuse for going into these games without a 4 game winning streak and there is no excuse for not being really up for all of these three games. I think we can and should finish that home stand on a 7 game winning streak. Boston is no better than us and neither is Phoenix IMO although both have been more consistent than us this year. LAL on the other hand is still not playing great ball and I think that good teams can still beat them. Shaq will be fired up to play this game but Yao Ming has risen to the occasion on every single big game. I think Yao Ming’s adrenaline will be pumpin and his energy level will be very high. While Shaq should win this match I think that Yao Ming will do a lot better than most think. So my prediction is that the Rockets will win the 1st five games of this schedule to extend their winning streak to 7. I will go ahead and predict that the Rockets will go: 9 wins 3 losses
10 Fri @ Atlanta - WIN 11 Sat Denver - WIN 13 Mon Boston - WIN 15 Wed Phoenix - loss 17 Fri L.A. Lakers - WIN 20 Mon @ San Antonio - loss 21 Tue @ Dallas - loss 24 Fri Detroit - WIN 26 Sun @ Chicago - WIN 27 Mon @ Memphis - WIN 29 Wed Dallas - loss 31 Fri Minnesota - WIN 8-4.
Your right I do get dissapointed. My expectations are probably a little higher than they should be but I think this team has what it takes to win right now.
Wow, crash. I think I'm frequently over-optimistic, but your going out there on that limb. If we manage THAT, I think we can safely talk about having turned a corner. Many of us have thought the team would turn it up and really start to gel in the second half... why not start now? The rollercoaster ride has to smooth out sooner or later, right??
This is a really mysterious list. How's the game on the 13th a back-to-back? How's the game on the 15th a back-to-back? How's the 31st back-to-back? How's the game on the 21st NOT a back-to-back? How's the game on the 27th NOT a back-to-back?
I think that our guys can at least win one of two games vs Mavs.Last time in DALLS we HAVE a chance winning.
10 Fri @ Atlanta - WIN 11 Sat Denver - loss 13 Mon Boston - loss 15 Wed Phoenix - loss 17 Fri L.A. Lakers - WIN 20 Mon @ San Antonio - WIN 21 Tue @ Dallas - loss 24 Fri Detroit - WIN 26 Sun @ Chicago - loss 27 Mon @ Memphis - WIN 29 Wed Dallas - WIN 31 Fri Minnesota - loss 6-6. That pattern would be more like our current Rockets.
He is talking about the opponents we play. We play 4 teams that is on a back to back in that stretch, and thats what the yes/no's are for, and not the easy to spot back to backs for Rockets.
Looks to me a streach of tough games. Is this the only diffcult streach or are there the other ones around March, April?
10 Fri @ Atlanta - WIN 11 Sat Denver - WIN 13 Mon Boston - toss up Last minute Walker and Peirce run versus Cuttino and a surging Rice at the arc 15 Wed Phoenix - LOSS Tired Suns but still an arsenal to deal with 17 Fri L.A. Lakers - LOSS - Tight game but Yao making it a game but in foul trouble late 20 Mon @ San Antonio - WIN Robinson ineffective and slow, Griffin all over the inside and Duncan and Yao trading points. 21 Tue @ Dallas - WIN- Dalls has been figured out by the third quarter,Nash is still efecctive but Finley has been kept out of the drive and the midrange 24 Fri Detroit - WIN Tougher game than it should be but a squeeky win by the Rockets 26 Sun @ Chicago - WIN 27 Mon @ Memphis - LOSS - Still don't have an answer for the exuberance and team effort of this bright but inconsistent Memphis Team Rockets will lose, sorry, they don't know how to pick it up in the fourth against this team. 29 Wed Dallas - loss- Nelly makes adjustments and agreat game is left at the altar - could even be an overtime. 31 Fri Minnesota - WIN- The heart is left holding the bag as the Rockets allow him his points but deny everyone else from even showing up. Final Run: 7-4 & 1 toss up
If Rudy wants a win, he can, but don't forget there is gambling to place bet on NBA games. dah! go figure.
