The only solace I take from reading their message board is that they have just as many ignorant posters as we do. I was a little concerned that we had cornered the market there.

Anyone have a realgm account they don't use? I want to troll the Knicks, and I can't create an account there because my computer keeps messing up when I try to register.

You should listen to some of their fans calling into sport's radio. That would really cheer you up.

Something I just noticed was the official Knicks store has no Lin items .. not sure if that's a clue or not ? Landry Fields items are also absent and they are also losing him ...Everyone else is stocked up.

Looking at MSG's stock price, seems no panic about Lin leaving ...

    This is exactly on point.

If the table were to have turned and Linsanity started here last year, NYK would have agreed to certain terms then signed him to different terms while we were still making moves I'm sure Morey would have been the one looking like the guy pissing in the wind.

I still put some blame on the Kickerbockers though, for allowing the market to set his contract, if they make some sort of offer (besides the qualifying) they wouldn't be in the position they're in now.

The part that is so ridiculous is that they said publicly that they weren't concerned with the luxury tax, so there was no real benefit to letting the market determine the price. While their public position on the luxury tax is obviously not entirely true, they are one of the few teams that can go into it without having it cripple them financially. They should have just negotiated on their own if it was that important to keep him.

The financial aspect of the contract isn't what is making them think twice about signing him. I think its the new CBA rules on luxury tax payers that's making them take a pause since it will cripple them on what they can do with roster moves. This is especially important when they have about a two or three year window to win it all which it seems like they aren't very close to doing at this time.

    1. stop trying to incite people when you don't know if you'll get Lin 100 percent. Wait on that.

    2. Why on earth would the Knicks and the fans want LIN if he doesn't want to be there. It's just asking for more drama.

ya. have you heard the callers on 610/790 etc? Those are the same people who come on the board posting how Lin > Nash.

Just like Rox fans wanting Dwight when he doesn't want to be here?

I see it like this, players go where the money goes... I'm sure if Lin would have recieved the same total amount offer from NY he'd be right back under the bright lights of the Big Apple.

We're paying him what he wants therefore he comes here, or gets matched. Same bodes for Dwight once/if he's traded to Houston.

Stephen A. Smith must really dislike Lin, nit picking Lin quotes and calling him out for having a "big-head" or "being diva." Who are these players that didn't like all the attention Lin was getting? Outside of Melo, Anthony, and Chandler, the Knicks had no readily identifiable players... and alot of those players had their top performances of the season with Lin at point guard. Also for Stephen A. Smith, what's up with all the Houston Rockets hate. "Blah ...Blah ... no one will ever hear about the Rockets this year, maybe two national TV games and that's it. They are not going anywhere...anytime soon." Ironically in the last ten years, the Rockets have played more playoff games and gotten further into playoff than the Knicks.

One of the few times in life that I agree with Skip Bayless, the contract is a bit much, but the thing is Knicks lose this possible God-send player for ... absolutely nothing. Nothing for Jeremy Lin. No draft picks or prospects. Nothing for the Knicks, if they lose out on this deal.

Lastly, on the Knicks, what makes people, like Stephen A. Smith and other New York writers and fans think that the Knicks are some kind of championship contender. There team has probably least complimentary talent of any other team in the league, as Phil Jackson said a very disjointed roster.

New York Knicks record (with Carmelo Anthony) - 2011-12: 29-26
New York Knicks record (with Jeremy Lin as a starter) - 2011-12: 16-9
Houston Rockets record (with all of our wonderful nobody players) - 2011-12: 34-32
