Could be a couple of things. New York is the largest market and much is expected, so you get fans doing dumb things. Knicks fans were saying people would always make fun of Lin at MSG, saying he couldn't play, etc. The Knicks organization apparently treated him wrong too. Houston is more like home to Lin, with Yao being here and the Chinese connections. Plus, guaranteed starting job and the Knicks are going nowhere.
Yao can help lin gain more of a foothold in the chinese marke. Also we are the most established team in china.Lin knows all this.
you had 2 posts and this looked better to reply to. 11:59 pm??? east cost, west cost? And that would be the 17th right?... Word has it that J Lin is in Vegas right now. Hmmmm Looking all this stuff over... And the Rockets last summer league game is the 18th Hmmmm would it not be just a little bit nice to see J Lin run the point for us in the last game of SL this year? I now it will not happen but still it would be cool as hell if he did. At the least he will dawn the head gear and bump gums with the talking heads during the game.. that would be cool... funny would be coatching playing and running the point for us LOL.
Nyc is overrated when it comes to NBA basketball. Almost 40 years w/o a championship. but but but spike lee attends all their games and whoopi goldberg played their coach once in a blockbuster movie! Lin just wants to follow in the greatness that was yao.
Yo.. wait... what!! stop... Ed was just an ok movie... spike lee is a short.... just to say... I would slap his black ass all over the place just because. And yes NYK are way overrated and I hope we messed them up on this deal... market value... yes i said that... it means a lot more today than you think.. so please start thinking...
Lets not forget that it has been 20 years since the Rockets championships. And if the Knocks have been irrelevant what have the Rockets been since 97?? Oh yeah a 6 hears no playoffs, no superstars, no national TV games, and a stadium that's about 70 percent full on average and in the bottom few in the league in attendance. Yet you call NY overrated Kr irrelevant? LOL, a little perspective please.

Guys, whatever you think of the Knicks, NYC is an amazing place to live and Lin certainly enjoys living there. The "advantage" the Knicks have is NYC, not the Knicks.
After bringing in Felton along with Kidd they aren't matching Lin. So we have our starting PG, but what effect will this have on the Dwight trade?
Will they......will they not....match? The wait is killing me! I have a feeling the Knicks will. They are just 2 big of a market not to. However, I like that the ROXs are rebuilding. I also wish that they would change the unis, still with the red of course.
I live in NYC. JLin is insane there. I can't go to one sporting goods store without a bombardment of Linsanity shirts and towels. We already signed him to a contract though, so I'm not sure what your point is.
Jacoby, i was responding to the idea Lin didn't really want to play on the Knicks because they weren't going to be a big winner. I was just saying he could easily be very happy there. This is about the money I believe.
Brian Mahoney @briancmahoney Carmelo says he'd love Lin back it's up to the Knicks to decide if they want to match that "ridiculous contract that's out there." And here I thought professional athletes were fully supportive of their cohorts in their quest to get PAID. The hypocrisy...
That's my favorite quote from that entire thread! We basically outmuscled them by making them give up so much for Camby and then kicked sand in their face by making Lin! HAHAHAHA
