david averaged 20 points and 9.6 rebounds ... 17.6 and 7.8 .. id say he is still playing in the league and playing better than the guy the knicks gave a max deal to .. good job

its more of a poison pill for the knicks who will basically pay 45 million for him in year 3 .. rockets on the other hand are going to pay him 8 million and thats going to set you back that much

They're actually likely to be paying over 70 million for him that year.

This is awesome. Morey doesn't care. He has a master plan and won't need the Knicks anymore after this

At the end of day, this says they don't value Lin as a big star yet. They gonna match it probably mainly for other reasons, like marketing and fan's sentiments.

All they got was Amare with no knees on a max contract.

These belief in these reports by Berman and Isola as gospel is the only stupidity going around. If the Knicks hadn't offered him any kind of contract, he simply would not be a restricted free agent.

I've been looking for a theme song with true machismo for a long time. I believe my search is over. Thank you.

No matter what the Knicks will match. Their still one of the wealthier franchises in the league. Morey just kicked them in the nuts with the $14+ million on the backend of Lin's contract.

No, he kicked them with about 70+ million, PLUS a ton of restrictions on trying to sign anyone else while they are so far over the cap as well.

This is NOT just about Dolan having to pay 15 mil.

If Dolan matches this offer, then he is an idiot, plain and simple, and I don't think rich guys got rich by being complete idiots.

I think this post deserves more recognition. Something I had not really thought about.
