2.1 mil is cheap Pacers could have bid but decided to go ahead and sign Hill and Hibbert, blowing cap room. Could have waited two days and gotten either Brand or Scola, then signed, and still be under the luxury tax. Arg..
Brand is an expiring contract. The Mavs can lock up Scola for a min of $3.7 Mil/yr for 3 years. An absolute bargain for his production.
From the mavs forum...I lol'd "Wow, very nice. Deron Williams might be regretting his decision to stay with the Nets sooner rather than later. A front court of Dirk, Kaman, and Brand is going to be very different from all previous Dirk-era iterations of the Mavs. Should be interesting. I'm already looking forward to the season starting."
$3.7 mil of cap space? Half the league has that easily. The Mavs had about $8 mil + Haywood amnesty amount - Brand amnesty bid. So whatever is the total of that.
It's now a frontcourt of players that are bigger names than they are players at this point. Brand, Kaman, Dirk.
I guess he forgot that this isn't prime they are getting nor is Dirk in his prime and Kaman is not that good although in his prime.
LOL, Dirk is still Dirk. People think Brand's done because he's been playing in Philly and had those two seasons in 2008 and 2009 with season ending injuries. Brand plays elite defense. No one knows because he played for Philly.
Dirk is regressing and a hell of a lot less motivated to play the game. Brand may still be serviceable but there's no way you can say he's living up to his name anymore, he avg'd 11 points last year, the WORST of his career.
Let's just say Scola thinks the Fakers fan is a little bit aggressive in his desire to receive a little swirl on his ice cream cone. Lakers fan looks to have the normal IQ of a fakers fan, completely delusional in both his request to Scola and the likelihood of the Lakers having a 3peat, since they would have to win the next 3 years in a row and that ain't happening.
