Interesting timing on Scola's knee injury. I wonder if there is some NBA rule against amnestying an injured player... about time for Stern to make his move...

Great find! If Scola is hurt this can become even more interesting. Maybe teams stay away depending on the severity of the injury. Should know more soon I hope.

While it might not stop us from landing him, I think it would affect how many contracts we can take back from Orlando. I'm sure someone like Carl Herrera could break it down more technically as to exactly HOW we get affected by both being matched, or some combination of one or the other (and of course, neither). I'm sure there's a verbal agreement in place as far as the overall framework is concerned, but the technicalities are what also hold this type of stuff up. I feel like this is a big enough deal where the technicalities are make or break type things.

Man, Les paying ~ $20 mil for Scola to play for another team - talk about desperation for a superstar - that is putting your money on the bet that DH signs here long term.

Let Scola go was the worst move EVER.

Mourray's move is **** and one of the worst moves in franchise hiatory. Let Scola go for nothing and now fail in every superstar scenario.

It has to be done. Same with letting Adelman go.

Rockets are tanking, which is hundred times better than being mediocre.

Rockets are actually one huge step closer to that superstar.

We couldn't get a single trade for Scola, not even a 2nd round pick? Is that why he got amnestied?

You would have had to take back a certain amount of salary along with that 2nd round pick.

Im gonna be so angry if somehow Dragic and Scola take Phoenix to 8th spot. They'll be battling with Utah and Minny.

Dragic, Beasley, Scola, Gortat are key while Morris, Dudley and Brown are decent role players too. Redd is a bit of a wild card. Not anything decent but not half bad either.

Isn't the 8th spot exactly what we DON'T want? Normally, that's a mediocre team destined for a 1st round exit. I would actually be extremely happy, not only for the ex-Rockets, but for us as well, as it means there's at least 1 more team that's better than us.
