Totally agree with you. This rebuilding base is really great! Good young and hungry players, great draft picks coming, tons of cap space to add 2 max players in next year Free Agency with assets for S&T, so no loss of money for them. Why is Morey in such a hurry to get it done this summer? And frankly, don't want to pay too much for semi-stars like Josh Smith, those can be groomed internally.
Parsons , Dmo and White are the only players on roster that I feel we would regret we not keeping if we had to go into a full on rebuilding effort. All three of those players have a skill set that is unique for people their height and size. Lamb is borderline as must keep in my mind. Every one else on the roster currently is replaceable. I am attached to Scola but only for sentimental reasons. My hope would be that Demps would bid the same amount as Dallas for the amnesty bid but they get to keep him because the had a worst record.
yah I agree I read that.....and was like you freaking kidding me...yes and yes yes yes.... If we manage to keep parsons, white and Dmo.... literally id do any deal.
Can't package Brockman and Livingston in deals yet... They would have to be traded separately. Not saying it's not possible, but this trade will then have to be a bunch of small trades if these are the players leaving.
They did you are right. They can however still comeback and sign Lee but since Luis will be amnestied they can not sign him again for the length of his original contract. Given Luis age I seriously doubt he will ever wear Rocket Red again. I would like to see Lee signed but will probably not happen unless he comes down on his asking price to play with Dwight.
This is a trade of reason and sense which I hope the Rockets can do instead of the horrible ESPN one going mentioned in another Thread.
Just a thought... This trades leaves us with enough assets to target another disgruntled star before the trade deadline.
duhon-douglas lee-richardson parsons-morris pat-royce dwight-donuts this would be a playoff team, but will it be enough to convince dwight to stay? probably not. we need to retain enough assets to acquire at least one more all star (guard), otherwise its better to NOT make this trade and build around our rookies and future picks.
Why would they send two second rounders back? Those would probably be pretty valuable as Orlando will be terrible immediately... Otherwise, seems like a pretty fair trade to me!
Because our GM is the king of the second round picks! Actually Howard is just a smoke screen to get to our real goal - the second round picks.
