If we do this, there is a chance we keep out Toronto Pick. Send that to Atlanta, acquire Josh Smith and all is well. If we trade the Toronto pick, if this is the offer, we gave up too much. But here is something to consider - acquiring Howard is going to eliminate a youth movement anyway. We will become competitive, and Dwight might not appreciate rookie mistakes.

Oh I understand that very well. But having financial flexibility doesn't guarantee you bring in a star. It's merely a possibility. Like the possibility, for example, that one of those rookies will end up being a star.

Like I posted before everyone on our roster Is on it because they give us a chance to get a superstar Via trade! so why would y'all be surprised at us trading them all?

We have been collecting these so called assets for the past two years and now we are cashing them in!

This isn't official. It's from "sources" so we don't know what's on the table. I understand some of you being upset, but lets let things play out before we let this ruin our lives. Lol

And tanking doesn't guarantee you draft a star either!

Honestly, even if Morey guts the roster for Dwight, I think I can still hold out hope that he can find some good role players and spare parts that can contribute. That's always been his strength. The question is, can he do it quickly enough to convince Dwight to stay?

But that roster still leaves the Rockets $12M under the cap.

This is obviously not the final trade. It doesn't even work (according to Realgm trade checker). Trades don't usually happen where one team get SEVEN players back.

I think Orlando would rather have future picks then the players we already picked. Why would their new GM and soon-to-be new coach want players that WE picked in the draft? The move that best helped our position was supposedly acquiring that Toronto pick for Lowry. Now they're trying to tell us that Orlando doesn't want it?

Morey will give up a lot but he won't give up the farm.
    Speculation:
Martin, Ppat, Morris, Dmo, T. Jones, Tor 2013 pick, Dal 2013 pick, Both NYK picks we just received, maybe our 2014 pick? for
    Howard, Davis, Duhon

That statement is not even accurate. By my calculation, if they waive the non-guaranteed guys, they only have to send out Martin to make it work salary wise. By amnestying Scola and waiving those guys, we should have ~27.6 million in cap space. Add Martin to that and you're at a number just over forty million. The guys mentioned in the trade proposal make less than 35 million. They could use bird rights on Lee to sign him over the cap, and then use the MLE on Brooks. I'll be waiting to hear from Bima and Carl on this one.

If it is just some of our prospectives, the picks and cap space then yes. If it is the whole roster then no, cuz the rockets will lose their own identity after this.

I didnt mean that directly towards you but to Clutchfans in general... Everyone seems to think we are going to suck for a year or to then draft a superstar and start competing, but it doesn't work like that!

The only "guarantee" we will will get a star Is if we trade for Howard, it Is a gamble but it Is the only way you can gurantee a superstar being here at any point in the next ten years.

Take Parsons out of that trade, we need to keep Parsons above anyone else on this list that we're sending out

You are way off. Dwight, Hedo, JRich, Davis and Duhon make $46M.

A lot of the season tickets buyers have grown up with our players. A complete swap of roster will lose the identity of the own team and the support of the majority of the fan base.

The proposed deal did not include Turkoglu. There's no way he takes back four bad contracts.
