Glen Davis is being talked about as another "bad contract" by ESPN and folks here. I am not sure why. Skill-wise, he is a good replacement for Scola and at 60% the annual salary. Perhaps better defensively. He was also pretty productive when relied upon his team to stand in for Howard and play big minutes in April and in the playoff series. He is not a star but good enough for the MLE. Don't knownif he will become a Rocket but it isn't bad to have him.

Yeah, people are remembering most of his regular season last year when he didn't play up to his contract.

The truth is though, he's a good value. It's unfortunate that Orlando will have to trade him, but if it gets Howard off of my team...I'm all for it.

Carl, when do you figure are the safest hours to sleep, assuming you want to refresh your way to "Rockets land Dwight"?

Does stuff ever break at 5,6, or 7 A.M.?

Hopefully, he is undersized and can play forward.

He's a bad contract because if Orlando has to choose between having him and not having him, they'd say no. He's not a negative in terms of trade value though. I think there would be a market at the deadline if the Rockets aren't doing anything. I'd imagine some contender's PF is injured and needs a replacement mid-season.

To me, the problem is that he's unfortunately a PF. If he were a good PG, then I'd like him a lot more. Too bad the PG that's coming over is Duhon. If McHale truly can turn Duhon into a solid starter, he should win COTY.

Big Baby is a decent player. He'll make a fine backup big for us off the bench if we wind up getting him.

The big problem is that Big Baby did not play well with Dwight. When Dwight went down Davis put up much better numbers.

I'm guessing we will almost entirely use him when Dwight is on the bench. So probably like 15 minutes a game.

I'd much rather have him with his 19 points per game average, than Turkoglu who averaged only 8.4 and costs 5.4 million more a year.

Glen Davis is garbage. Morey can find a player that produces like him for 1/4th the price all day.

Exactly. The main reason Morey is OK with bringing him here is this:

Ah I remember when BBS was comparing Carl Landry and Glen Davis, good times. Back when you know we had much more potential with the players on the team. Honestly we're not going to have many players outside of D.Mo it looks like. Assuming the reports are correct with the Rockets needing to waive all the guaranteed contracts. Meh, don't care. Please wake me up when something happens.

Davis was pretty bad most of the year until he began playing starters minutes. Guess what? The same goes with Dragic- big jump in level of play when given big minutes.

Davis is actually quite a good defender. There's no question he's a better defender than Scola. Not even close.

The problem with Davis is his shot selection, as he too often relies on his streaky outside jumper. That, combined with his inability to finish at the rim, makes him an inefficient offensive player.
He's also quite average as a rebounder.

There's nothing wrong with Big Baby or his contract per se, but if we load up enough contracts, good or bad, to where we can't add a second max player next summer, then Dwight will walk and all of this will have been for naught.

You can find players of that kind for less price. He's not a bad player but it is a bad contract.

Also with his size, and production he's about the equivilent of an NBA backup center, which is probably what would happen with him sharing time with another big like Terrence Jones or Motiejunas off the bench. Assuming that Patterson would be the starting PF with the rumoured players left on the roster.

Also, Jason Richardson is still very productive as well, is a knock down shooting from 3, and plays solid defense. Again, not sure if Lamb would be left on the Rockets or not, but if he was, there is no way he's ready to be a starter on a playoff team this early in his career.

Duhon... well, he's a backup PG who can walk and chew at the same time. The PG position is an issue if this does happen.

Glenn Davis is Diarrhea. The guy has never averaged over .45% in his career. Rebounds like constipation - In 38 mins he cant even average 10. Did I mention he is a princess fairy (homo)?

The best thing about him and his biggest strength is his 300 pounds. Not too many guys can shove or push him around. What else has he got?
