Rockets were in 2nd round in 2009, not 2007.

That's the nightmare scenario that a lot of folks are not foreseeing.

Not a big deal. Mediocrity would eat up all the years; better to swing for the stars with as much competence and brilliance as Morey can muster

And Lol@ at my red. I got member status within a couple casual posts. I see the estrus brigade has been out, hysterically flapping over one thing or another

I'm depressed. If we don't end up with something special after the drama since the draft, I'll be something else altogether, and not pleasant to be around for a while. And what will I be thinking if we do all this and end up with chump change? That we should have started this process during the past season, and that management has failed the franchise and its fans. I really hope it doesn't come to that.

Howard has not even been on the court since having surgery,so I'd say it's fair to be concerned.

Can you name me another NBA player who has had back surgery and went on and had a productive career ?

I keep hearing how minor the tear was supposed to be but Howard himself says it was the longest tear his doctor had ever seen.

Here is the link but I don't know how to embed it .. Listen for yourself.

I'm guessing you've never had back problems.I had a herniated disk and underwent the same type of procedure.I never felt the same and about 4 years later had to have a lumbar fusion that has taken over 2 years to get over.

I'm not saying that his is comparable to mine but it shouldn't be taken lightly.I'm also sure the Rockets medical staff will do their due diligence, but when your entire game is dependent on your physicality,it's a valid concern.

Well come to think of it..wht type of era was it anyway when the farthest they went was the 2nd round. So it's about time they rebuilt..even if it means starting off from scratch and tanking..that's still a good start than sticking with mediocre veterans.

Its sad that it was only 3 years ago that we had a great team that was easy to root for and fun to watch.

Watching guys like Yao, Shane, Scola, etc... was easy to become attached. Even if we do land Howard, I dont know if I can ever really have that feeling again...

This is the bane of the whole assets thing. A revolving door roster just sucks for fans.
