    He's now an UFA.

Why would they do this when there was trade interest?

Could be great news for the Rockets. Augustin can be a very, very good player.

Wish the Rockets could sign him, I'd prefer him much more than Brooks. Looks like he's going to the Pacers though.

Pacers look to get him now without needing to trade for him.

One presumes Pacers go all out to sign Augustin directly now. I'm told they made Collison move with full confidence that new PG was on way

The Pacers aren't wasting any time, they're already heavily pursing DJ Augustin. They're "close" to getting him, according to a source.

Why would they withdraw a 1 yr $4.4 mil offer? Rich Cho has a deal or major signing in the works?

Pacers are acting quick because they have promised Hibbert and Hill a contract signing tomorrow, and at that point the team's salary cap space is gone

Pretty nice deal for the Pacers. I like Augustin better than Collison also.

Yeah he went to Hightower. I remember I was still in high school during the time and I heard about him coming from Brother Martin (a school that I am very familiar with) and he was a monster there. I was excited to see him play in our district and I believe he won the district MVP that year.

    I think...

Augustin is an upgrade over Collison at backup PG
Mahimi is an upgrade over Lou Amundson at backup PF/C
Gerald Green is an upgrade over Dahntay Jones at backup SG/SF

So they have kept their starting 5 completely in tact and ungraded the 6th, 7th, and 8th men?

#9 = Hansbrough, #10= Barbosa; both figure to be gone soon.

Lance Stevenson also appears ready to be a rotation player at SG maybe even PG, certainly filling Barbosa's minutes.

    A better top 9?

    Me like.

Hansborough does a lot of the hard nose type things very well. I think there is always a need for a role player like that stashed away on the bench.

Pacers FO is doing a great job. Won't be surprised if they win a title in the next few years.

If the Bobcats can win the amnesty auctions on Brand and Haywood. I think they can sneak into the playoffs. The playoffs money would be a godsend for the Bobcats.

Guys I think it's been well established here.. It's either Dwight or we tank.. We aren't gonna sign anyone until after the Dwightmare is over..
