If we can't get Dwight why not facilitate a trade to someone in the East? Maybe get some more cap space or picks for next year. What do we care how many super teams are in the East, we could only meet one of them in future playoffs.
I would think we would be supplying Martin's expiring and some but not all our picks and rookies to get maybe a Noah, Asik, or Chandler
We have a lot of pieces that could help create a super team in the East all while creating more cap space and/or picks for us.
Chicago, New York, Boston, Atlanta, philadelphia? Anybody with a player we would covet. We improve our roster and keep Dwight away from our conference
Chicago - who? Rose? Yeah like they'd do that deal... New York - who? STAT? HAHA No way they give up Melo, already have Chandler. Boston - I doubt they would have a strong enough core of young prospects to interest Morey and it's obvious that he doesn't value the PG position so I would think Rondo is out of the question Atlanta - Big Al + J Smoov? I could dig it, but it won't happen. One of those by themselves is not enough, and again with Teague - Morey doesn't value PGs Philly - Iggy? Who else? Not enough I just don't see us facilitating to anybody in the east
I'm just saying use a couple of our assets and Martin to facilitate a trade to get a decent center like Noah. Our Toronto pick with Chicago's Charlotte pick and Martin's expiring and maybe PPat might work for orl and net us a good big man while shipping Dwight away from the west. We still keep our high upside rookies
Does Chicago have enough cap space to A. Take on Dwight and sign him longterm or B. Take on Contracts from Orlando I don't know the exact answers to these questions, but I don't think that that would work.
Can we build a time machine while we're at it? If you're gonna start a thread, put up some numbers like Bima etc . . .
DH is finally cornered, he basically has no options left besides going to houston, or through houston (in exchange for Bynum), or staying in Orlando, and you want to trade him elsewhere?
I can't figure out how to paste the trade from Espn but it works. Watson and Noah to rockets Dwight to bulls Martin, gibson, PPat Charlotte pick from chi, Toronto pick, Dallas pick to Orlando Hope that satisfies your thread starting criteria?
So you want Howard to the Bulls, give up PPat, Martin, our 1st round picks from Toronto and Dallas to get Watson and Noah. Waston was released by the Bulls, he's a UFA. So you want Noah, while we're trying to pry Asik away from them. Fantastic. Critical thinking my friend, this is what I'm trying to get at instead of sticking your thumb to the wind hoping for castles in the sky . . .
I only have about a 2% desire in keeping Howard out of the west. The other 98% of my desire has to do with us getting Howard or Bynum. Noah would be a horrible way to concede defeat. We give up basically the same amount we were going to have to give up to get Howard.....but we get Noah instead. Just makes zero sense to me.
