to get you into this slightly used Center today? It's like national NBA General Manager Day today. Just for fun, post your vision of what deal might actually be accepted between the concerned parties with draft picks, expiring contract players, just drafted players, and bad contracts. (For the Carl Herrera level, you can post the timeline it has to happen in) I'd post one but I'm a little lost at this point. I do think it will take something like: one draftee (Dmo, Lamb, White, Jones) two draft picks (Toronto + one more) Martin's expiring (for salary match) Taking one bad contract (Turkoglu) for Howard
Magic receive- 2, 1st round draft picks, 1, 2nd round draft pick.. scola, martin and morris.. Rockets recieve- howard and turk..
The Howard train is long gone for me...I don't have faith in the Rockets getting Howard let alone him resigning here. I'm more interested in Bynum getting here now.
I have a feeling they will want more young talent than this. If we do get Howard, it's likely to hurt a little.
I think Morey will hold out for a smart deal. It's Orlando that is facing losing a Super Star for nothing. The Rockets can pass on Howard and initiate the full rebuild mode. Trading away too much compromises the "if Howard doesn't re-sign" scenario leaving us without assets to rebuild. We have to consider that can happen. smart deal or no deal.
I'd bet Morey is. I'd bet Les isn't. C'mon, somebody post a plausible 3 way with Bynum to the Rockets and Howard to the Lakers.
I think Morey is offering Toronto's pick, Dallas' pick, one youngster(presumably one of our gazillion PFs), and take on either Hedo or Richardson plus Duhon. KMart and a bunch of worthless contracts to make the money work. I think Orlando wants 2 draft picks, including Toronto's, and our own 2015 pick(which may be very good if Howard leaves), and 2-3 of our young guys plus unloading a bad contract on us. And to this, Morey likely told Orlando they can go get Brook Lopez.
I do know that now that Orlando is running out of bidders, and that Bynum is apparently also in play - the price offered just went down if I'm Daryl M.
We can't include Donuts now, right? He just signed a contract, making dealing him something that couldn't take place until December at the earliest. Unless I have it wrong! Toronto pick Dallas pick 2 Knicks 2nd round picks Jones, and either White or Lamb, our choice. Martin, Patterson We get Howard and their choice of a bad contract.
Lamb. Parsons. Patterson. Toronto pick and the two crappier 1st picks. Cap or non guaranteed contracts + Martin (or you can turn him into cap, that's even better). For J-Rich+Dwight. Or J-Rich+Bynum.
Doesn't Martin need to be in there for the money to work? If so, I'd guess Lamb wouldn't be. My offer to them would be Morris, Patterson and Jones. ROYCE WHITE! would hurt.
Why wouldn't Lamb be in there? They wouldn't get Martin to be their long term starting SG. He would be like Kaman in the CP3 deal.
It will probably be something like this.. Dwight J-Rich Duhon For Martin Scola T. Jones Chandler Bang Patterson TOR 1st Round Pick OUR 1st rounder in 2015(pick a year) and a second rounder actually works in the trade machine
Although what do I know, the Hornets wanted him. So I may be wrong. But it seems like the Magic are looking for different kind of deal. A young piece with franchise player potential and/or multiple young assets/picks/cap space.
