I'll say what I said in another thread. The devil is in the details.

For Dwight, I'd be willing to give up anything on this roster.

For Bynum, I'd count the cost.

And I'd damn sure make LA does the heavy lifting in this trade if they're going to acquire Dwight...because I think that absolutely makes them the favorite to win the West next season, and perhaps the favorite to win the title. I really hate that.

Go get Dwight for yourself. Forget about LA.

And the Lakers, like Brooklyn, likely need a third team themselves to complete a trade for Howard because they don't have the financial flexibility to take back contracts such as those belonging to Richardson and Duhon and don't have future first-round picks handy after committing two to Phoenix in last week's sign-and-trade agreement for Nash.

I cant believe there is a debate over which is the better player...jeez, only on Clutchfans.

    Their one meeting last season...

Bynum had 10 points and 12 boards.
Howard had 21 points and 23 boards.

There is no comparison between the two. Bynum is the 2nd best center in the league, but the drop off from 1 to 2 is larger than at any other position.

Exactly. I dont understand why we would gut our team for Bynum and help LA get Howard in the process. I dont think that makes us that much better, we give up tons of flexibility down the road, take on contracts etc and LA only parts with Bynum to replace him with Howard?! Also, LA would be a vastly superior team to anything we had a hope of putting together, so this would not increase our chances for a ring (barring injury in LA). How does that make any sense for us? We'd be getting bent over in this deal.

Maybe because we haven't gutted our team yet? AFAIK, there isn't a legit reported offer with the actual pieces. May have missed it this morning though.

Will there be enough cap space left for Lin or Asik if Howard/Bynum join Rockets?

Bynum is 24. We get him and spend the next 3 years building a contender around him. By that time Kobe/Nash will be too old to compete.

People forget to build a big 3, you need a star first. Bynum is a star center. Is he Dwight? Not yet.

Was Paul Pierce the best SF in the league when the Celts built a big 3 around him? No.

Is Amare the best PF in the league? No.

Bynum would give players a reason to come play in Houston. To be paired with a legit big man.

Not necessarily. All depends on what comes back with Dwight/Bynum.

Exactly right. I'm totally open to this, depending on the cost. I'm sure Morey will call me to double check before he pulls the trigger ;)

I completely agree, but with that being said, I would rather have the #2 with an extension than the #1 for a year

A crybaby softie who gets into argument with coaches and likes to jack up threes.
    A DPOY candidate every year.

This one is a toughie

I would do absolutely nothing that helps out the Fakers.

Orlando wants young prospects, future picks, and flexibility (cap room).

    Houston (Morey) wants Howard.

So lets stop the Dwight v Bynum debate. No need for a third team to satisfy both the Rockets and the Magic.

I hope we don't get passed up watching Howard go to LA while Bynum goes to ORL. Not to say that is what will happen, it's just my fear.

That's a huge part of it.

I just have a difficult time believing Dwight would leave $30 million on the table to walk after next season if we made a trade for him.

It's definitely the simpler deal. Oczom's Razor? :)
