Andrew Bynum (among players with over 30 minutes per game):

    10th in PER
    7th in TS%
    5th in rebounding rate
2nd in blocks per 48 minutes

    Yeah, he's not a superstar...

Wouldn't they just have to get rid of enough salary to get them barely under the cap in order to make a max contract offer? That wouldn't leave them with 3 players...

I call it criticism of not doing well on his job. Yet. Then praise if FINALLY pulls something through.

Then possibly failure again if Dwight leaves. Real simple concepts to me. Really is. I know people are fans but I am grown up now and things are more cut and dry when you grow up. Fandom carries less weight in my decisions or emotions as I get older.

He's on a team controlled by Kobe. He can't do more unless he's the 1st option. He's also only 24 years old.

No, they'd have to be under the cap by the full max amount. So between Deron and JJ they would be at $40 million roughly. That puts them somewhere around $16 million from the cap. I know that sounds like a lot of money, but it really isn't. Wallace takes up another $10. Lopez is going to sign for somewhere around $10. So between those 4 players they are over the cap already. Then you have all the other contracts. A million here, a million there for backup players.

Even if aside from the first four players EVERY player was on a one year deal this year, they'd have to renounce them all after the season, dump Lopez and Wallace to teams under the cap and not take back any salary. That would get them under the cap and they could offer a max contract. But then they couldn't sign any players to fill out their roster and they'd have to forfeit every game. :)

You reported rebounding, blocks, and ts%. All three of these are going to favor centers. Bynum is probably the second best center in the game, so of course he is going to be at the top in each of these categories. Being the 2nd best at your position doesn't make you a superstar. Also, I'd like to point out that if Omer Asik was our starter, he would be a be ahead of Bynum in rebounding and blocks. This does not make Asik a star.

What makes a star is someone who can CARRY a team. Bynum can't do that, and Howard can.

How many games has he dominated or taken over to carry his team..that's a superstar....the 10 I named blow Bynum away in that category...fir u to say that Bynum is betterbthan Dirk is laughable

Almost doesn't count. If you are the top 2-3 at your position, you are a superstar.

Kind of hard when Kobe is chucking up 40 shots a game.

DWill is sealing his fate and the fate of the Brooklyn Nets not getting Dwight in 10 minutes.

Since when does being the 2nd best in your position not make you a superstar?

    Second best PG:
    Either CP3 or Rose

    Second best SG:
    Either Kobe or Wade

    Second best SF:
    Either LeBron or Durant

    Second best PF:
Arguable between about 4-5 guys who are all superstars

Are you actually arguing the center position is LESS VALUABLE than the other four?

Y! Sources: As time's running out on a Howard deal for Brooklyn, Brook Lopez nears agreement on max contract with Nets.

Edit: This will end it for any **** eyed strategy for the Nets to outright sign a free agent Dwight.
