Yes. I believe that Houston/LA are front runners, but Orlando is trying to use "a possible Brooklyn trade" as an attempt to gain a semblance of leverage in the situation.

    Bynum for 3!!!

Yeah thanks but no thanks. Save the cap space for 13-14, get an all star in that FA period, tank and get a top 5 pick, and package the rest of our picks to move up into the top 10 and just like that you have 3 potential all stars with plenty of assests to have a winning team in 2-3 years.

I've been saying it for weeks, the 13-14 FA market is so much better.

Lamb, White, Montiejunas, and Parsons. These young guys I think have real potential. I wonder how many we will lose? My guess is that we lose at least two and maybe three.

And what would be sooo attractive for free agents to chose Houston? With Bynum they could actually play with probably one of the most dominant big men in the NBA of that time.

Only players I would hate to lose are DMo, White, Lamb, and Parsons

But how d the Magic sell this trade to fans, not getting any players with name recognition back in the deal?

completely agree, at worst he's the second best centre in the league and the starting western conference all star. We have enough complaining on the boards regarding no centre, no star etc and when a possible one is presented the naysayers still come out in force. If the rumours are true and Bynum has long term interest in the Rockets then this is a no-brainer and a great big man option at the five alongside Asik and the pletgora of combo forwards

ORL doesn't have all that much leverage. Howard is bolting next summer. Teams with a star on an expiring contract tend to end up on the short end of the stick because they are just trying to avoid ending up with nothing. Looking at the players involved, it looks terrible for ORL, but they were screwed since Howard wrote off re-signing with the Magic. This is where Morey's asset strategy may payoff. And I'd much rather have Bynum than Howard since Bynum says he wants to be in Houston where we can give him the most years and money if we already get him under contract before next year.

I would call out Orlando's bluff on that one in a second. Nets have shown their hand, it sucks. Their only leverage came from involving other teams which has since fallen a part. Houston, LA are the main options now (unless dark horse secret team that hasn't been leaked...) and Orlando is getting more DESPERATE to trade Dwight. I don't think there is a scenario where they hang on to dwight until the trade deadline. Too toxic.

Sure, i'm not sure if he is the best player on your team that you can win a championship either, but he is the second best player at his position.

If we pass on that type of youth and talent (especially at the center position) does that mean we are holding out for only transcendent players? How many are there in the NBA right now, 3 (Lebron, Durant, A. Davis?)

Whats wrong with trading up your coins? take 4 quarters and get $1 (Simmons).

I just can't understand how people are adverse to picking up such an elite talent. Yes. he is a knuckle head, but he can take over a game, any given night. If he signs a long term extension, that is foundational.

    PG 1/PG 2
    Lamb
    Parsons/White
    Motieujunas/Leuer
    Bynum/Asik(?)

That is a team I can get behind.
