Will the effects of it actually take a while to cycle through, or is it suppose to help right away? I don't see any help, relief, stoppage of larger market teams corning the market. So...what exactly has it done for this new season?
the CBA lockout was never about creating new significant rules. It was always about the BRI split, as you recall, everything else was called "system issues." Also, the huge luxury taxes have not begun, yet.
The CBA was always about the owners getting more money instead of competitive balance. Anyone who thought otherwise was a fool. That said, I do understand that sign and trades will be banned after this offseason, which is probably why it's been abused like crazy now.
Should've implemented a hard cap to stop teams from squandering money and have competitive balance, but that's bad for business.
One of the reasons NFL is king is the salary cap. Parity in the NBA would just do so much for the league.
