Hello clutchfans, I'm moving back to Houston and I need to find a safe, quiet 1 bedroom apartment/condo where I could study peacefully and not worry about various disturbances like car jacking, break ins, rodents, etc... my budget was initially around $800, but after looking around it appears that $900-$1000 is a more appropriate price range to get anything worth a damn in this area. The area I'm interested in is the galleria area and extending east inside the loop. So basically anywhere north of 59 from Voss on the west all the way to Sheperd/Montrose on the east. Can anyone make some recommendations for me?

    spark notes:
-need safe, quiet 1 bedroom apartment
    -price range- $800-$950
-area: north of 59 between Voss and Sheperd/montrose (galleria, uptown, midtown and greenway area)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    59 between Voss and Shep?

So... do you want to include Midtown or not? Cause otherwise you're stretching all the way over to Travis.

I assume you are a student, does proximity to your campus matter?

I'm actually looking for one in the same area as well. I'm looking around Kirby.

You're going to be hard pressed to find anything decent in midtown for less than a grand. The galleria is probably more within your price range.

The place I used to live (Plantation at Sage/Westheimer) wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. Window units and OLD building. I had my car broken into once there.

BUT, it was on the corner of Sage and Westheimer, and my roommate and I combined to pay $955/mo. $650/mo for one person.

    Oh yeah, they pay electricity.

Y'all should just get together and be roommates and get a townhouse or something. Best route for money/amenities ratio.

That's true, but I'm looking to live solo. :) Don't wanna share a place with a bunch of doods.

I lived in Metro Midtown... not sure if it's still called that or not. I liked it.
