If they were both signed for the next three years and Howard at +$3 or even more mil I would concur. However, and this is no small however, both are in their walk year.

If I'm the Lakes and Howard would or would likely sign long term then they would or should take the Dwightmare. If DH12 can get to Bklyn then they would prefer him.

But if I am almost anyone else and I can trade for one or the other I am going to deal for Bynum who won't be dealt anyway for anyone short of Howard.

Bynum is terrific and immature and brittle and easier to deal with for almost any squad than Howard. Thus, greater trade value in most scenaria.

Your logic makes no sense. Dwight has less value because he can walk at the end of the year? So, if the Rockets trade for Bynum then he can't walk at the end of the year?

They are both free agents at the end of the year and Howard is clearly the better player. The fact that Dwight wants out of Orlando is going to scare people off? Apparently that's not true because there's lots of teams trying to acquire him. I'll ask again, if teams would prefer Bynum then why is LA trying to acquire Howard when it will cost them Bynum? Obviously LA values Howard over Bynum.

I hope something happens. I want to know if this year is about renting or tanking and I want to get behind either. Being left not to know sucks.

Bynum is not the crazy pill about where he gets his megamils as Howard.

Rockets 'pushing hard' for Dwight Howard, using Marcus Camby as bait

Cool. Perhaps if they can get the Philly pick from Miami, that'll put them over the top.

Can we really get a first rounder for Camby?? I don't see that happening.

I think from a team like the Heat it's possible but that's basically a second rounder.

You underestimate the value of Candyman to a contender.

    It's Philly's pick they own.

So you can guarentee that Bynum will resign with any team that acquires him? Do you have a link stating that? If not, then how do you know that?

Reports, I have seen, indicate that. Bynum is not the one holding a franchise (or much of the NBA, for that matter) hostage.

So, we disagree. You believe you're right. I'm confident I am. I am more confident we could get Dwight; less confident we should.

Show me anywhere where Bynum has said he will resign if traded. For that matter show me anywhere where the writer even speculates that Bynum would sign if traded to Orlando.

You are correct that Bynum hasn't asked for a trade as Howard has. That's a long way from agreeing to resign if traded. I fail to understand how you interpret the fact that he hasn't demanded a trade from LA to mean that he'd resign with Orlando if traded.

Bynum was asked by reporters if he expected to sign a contract extension with Los Angeles going into the offseason. The Lakers have said they plan to pick up their $16.1 million option on him for 2012-13.

"I'm not sure," he said. "It really doesn't matter to me. I'll play anywhere.

I'm linkless. I have seen it in e-ink. Can't swear to it. Believe it, however. Believe that over the broad spectrum that is July '12 NBA Bynum is better viewed than Dwight for attainment purposes.

To me here's the best indicator. According to reports LA is currently offering Bynum and WMP for Howard and Jason Richardson. If Orlando truely thought that they could resign Bynum then I think they would have already pulled the trigger on the deal.

The sad thing is that part of me wants to see Montejunes,White, Jones and Lamb play together (in Houston). Howard is a definitely a top 5 guy but I really like those 4 guys.I'm pretty much guarenteed to have mixed feelings which ever route we go.
