I think Orlando would at least want to start with Danotas Motiejunas in any trade scenario for Dwight Howard. I would also think they would demand at least on of if not both Royce White and Jeremy Lamb plus the Dallas or Toronto pick or both.

The Rockets probably have enough cap space to absorb D12's contract with out including KMart. So you could feild a decent team if you don't mind mortgaging your future.

So are you willing to roll with:

    D12 / Asik??
    Scola / TJones
    Parsons / Morris
    Martin / ??
    Point Guard??

    for

    Motiejunas
    White
    Lamb
    Dallas 1st round picks
    Toronta 1st round picks

I do recall. Like I said; he is a good scorer. Of course, we don't know if he's had any sort of drop since then, but I'd imagine he's still good at it. However, he's also managed to get himself kicked out of games and generally cause problems for the two teams he was on since then as well. There's a reason Brooks, if he returns, would have been one of the Rockets 'all else fails' options at this point.

brooks is a good guy, i'm not worried about any problems with him. if that's your only concern, then there's not much to worry about. and like i said, if dwight comes here, it won't make much of a difference between a player like brooks or dragic.

I'm too lazy to do it, but could somebody put Orlando's lineup against this projected Rockets lineup with Dwight and compare them? Just from memory, I'm inclined to think Orlando's was better. I just don't see that much offense on this projected Rockets lineup. Memphis is better IMO FYI.

I disagree. Dwight hasn't had a whole lot of success in the weak East. It takes a whole team. And it would have been a considerably better team with Dragic than Brooks IMO.

Out of curiousity...and in all seriousness...why would that list of 5 "assets" be the best offer that 29 teams would put into play for Dwight Howard?

But further...and I generally respect most of your opinions. What inclination do you have that ORL would want any of the unproven Rockets' "players" you've listed?

Lastly, the Rockets team that you're listing (the one you're listing with all of the ?'s) is fundamentally worse than what has been with Howard and the Magic over the past 3 seasons in the weaker EC.

I'm not getting why anyone would think he'd stay whether the team sucks by next summer or not. Seems getting Howard to come here for a season would just prolong the team's period of not being competitive. I also think there's a big difference between Dragic or Lowry and Aaron Brooks or Ramon Sessions. How quickly we've come to take having a good point guard for granted.

Well, I always thought last season, we will trade for howard with a combination of Lowry, Kmart and Scola + picks.
Then I thought we will do that trade before the draft.

And 1 more thing, with so much cap space, rox could always trade for a 2nd star like Iggy.

I'm just saying that if I'm Orlando I want youth and upside. I did not suggest that this was a good or bad deal for either team. I just can't see Orlando trading Dwight Howard and wanting anything to do with Scola or Martin if they are going to rebuild. If they trade Dwight what choice do they have but to rebuild.

I certainly do not have any inside sources but it seems to make sense to me that that three high upside players and two potential lottery picks are about all the Rockets have to offer.

DMo is a 7 footer with a lot of upside
White and Lamb are our two highest draft pics from this year, both with high upside.
    2 first round pics

What else do we legitimately have to offer a team that is rebuilding?

Of course if Atlanta offers Horford & Smith or if LA offers Bynum then there is nothing we can do to match those offers.

As far as the Rockets team I listed, I don't think they are any better than the ones he has been with. I just don't see what else we could put with him. All of our trade assets would be gone.

Personally I don't like the trade because I think we are still only a boarder line play-off team at best and when Howard walks at the end of the season we will be left with an empty bag. Furthermore it would piss me off royaly if Howard walked and Royce, Lamb and DMo all turned into studs which is what would happen with the Rockets luck. I was just responding to the OP because I think what he thinks the Magic want and what I think they would want are two seperate things.
