I agree with the general theme of your post. However, too many people here are too impatient. Most glaringly, those that b**** about us not having a PG nor C. The season is months away. Has Morey run out of his ability to obtain more players? No, and he specifically still has the ability to get Point Guards and Centers.

On the longer-term front, I keep reading about how we're not going anywhere, we keep getting the 14th pick. Well, if that's the only thing you see, your analysis is correct. What others of us see is, we have excellent cap space, a very young team, we're one or two 1st-round picks ahead of nominal, no bad contracts, and some excellent-looking young players. To me, we have progressed. Sure, I want to see more in the future, but I see no reason to think we aren't getting there.

Too many teams are like what Dallas and Chicago are starting to look like: they make the same barely-controlled moves, they might smell some success, but ultimately, they paint themselves into a corner, and take years to get out of that corner. What's so bad about making one small, smart move at a time?

If the Rockets have done a whole lot of nothing does that mean we ate bringing back the exact team as last season. Royce, Donatas, Lamb are all not going to be on the team :(

Why couldn't it mean that whatever they've done...versus what the rest of the WC has done...translates into 9th seed & #14 pick? IOW, if the goal is to become an elite WC team...paraphrasing the old Stevie Wonder tune...."they haven't done nothin' ".
