The guy who won 6 championships, 10 scoring titles, 9 defensive first teams and more MVPs (finals and regular season) than he can count on two hands...
how could you forget Stockton? because he is a jazz? i know alot of people wil not vote for him because he is a jazz, but he is the smartest player, he didn't get s far in this league because of his skills.
Stockton has to be the smartest if not one of the smartest players in the game, but back in the day I would have went with Bird or Magic.
jason kidd should be on the list. even though this is a rockets board francis shouldnt be anywhere near it.
im not being a smart @$$ but thats what the other option is for to vote on. plus dont u see steve do all those crazy layups he has a great iq but ill admit not better than jason kidd
No...he doesn't. I don't think that he is any less intelligent than the other young guards in the league, but he shouldn't be anywhere near a most intelligent list.
All of the listed players are very good. They are all the superstars. Of course, Michael was the best. The smartest have to be guards. They are the ones who set up plays. These are all great superstars. John Stockton has to be the smartest. Yao is pretty intelligent too. Michael Jordan was the best of all.
If Stockton were smart, he wouldn't be considered a dirty player. If you're smart you'd be a dirty player and nobody would notice. For example Jordan, he literally knocking over Russell and literally shoveled drexler to the floor with the whole world watching the NBA finals. Yet he gets the score and win. And nobody thought of him as dirty. He was a smooth operator. That's smart.
Jordan is winning this poll? No way was he smarter than Jerry Lucas, John Stockton, or Alex Hannum (yes, he was a player before he was a coach).
Arvydas Sabonis is my choice, even at his age he is an above-average center. He has a great court-sense and is one of the best passing centers in NBA history, even if he sometimes kicks it out when there are perimeter players swarming the passing lanes. His fake-passes cause defenders to overreact and give him the wide-open lane, where he can finish like a guard even at 38. Age has taken its toll though; he runs the floor like Oliver Miller and, since he can't jump to receive a pass, can be effectively fronted by smaller frontcourt players.
John Stockton? How much IQ does it take to understand this: pick and roll. From that list, I've got to go with Jordan. Of all time, it may be someone else.
