Im a little disappointed in the lack of basketball IQ. Mchale should've never been here in the 1st place. The question is why was he hired
Please clutch, make it to where only where people here for only 5 years or more can make threads. Im saying that as a person who's been on for a year but there's just way to many unnecessary threads.
I think its a combination of things, first of all players talk to other players, Morey treats them like trash and word goes around, its simple as that, ontop of that our owner DOESNT spend and he isnt proving he will spend "when the right opportunity arises" by treating his players like crap, also i think the rockets amenities (crappy jet for example) are lacking compared to other teams, once again players tell players, and if your amenities are **** your owner wont spend to "win". Paying for Lin just shows Les is after seats in the stadium and not interested in winning.
Coach Kevin McGale reminds me of a Drunk Rudy Tomjanovich minus the wins I'm just saying, Kevin McGale is a good ole boy from Boston who loves to let the good times roll and avoid coaching accountability. Problem is the rockets downgraded in performance and expectations. It's one thing to downgrade in performance, but it's a shame to transform a winning culture into a culture that is satisfied with a "rebuilding" status. Our team was in the Western Conference finals in 09, but look at us now. Granted Yao retired, but that '09 team made it far without Yao. Rick Adelman deserves alot of credit, and the magic should hire him in orlando.
I don't think it was much of a secret that during the championship years Rudy Tomjanovich was himself a drunk Rudy Tomjanovich. He quit when he got cancer but in the day he could put 'em away.
Also, though I loved him and always will, he wouldn't have had more wins with last year's squad than McHale did. Being a "players' coach" is a great thing but it requires that one actually have players.
Can anyone at least characterize Coach McHale's coaching philosophy? What is his direction or vision? I mean what is his winning formula? That's right? Nobody can answer that because he doesn't even have a formula to win, but that shouldn't surprise anyone because afterall this is his first rodeo and legitamate coaching opportunity.
