What if Donatas, Royce and Lamb turn into all star caliber players? They are all very very high ceiling guys. Certainly we can not beat OKC in a 7 game series over the next couple of seasons but when the youngsters mature and depending on who the Rockets draft in the next couple of seasons it may be a different story.
I feel you I don't want to become one of the bottom feeder teams who stays in the lottery for a long time. But look at the Kings who have been in the lottery for a long time and tell which roster you perfer the rockets or kings?
He averaged about 10 assist a game in college (best in college) but he did not get drafted. Highly sought after undrafted free agent but that picked the Rockets. He has a legit chance at making the team.
Oh sweet, I didn't even hear of him making the team. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a Lin situation where he performs well throughout pre-season but the position is too stacked so he is cut and then succeeds elsewhere when he is given a shot
I get that, I understand it I really do. But the question is how long will the rebuilding take? I honestly don't mind rooting for bad teams, I like being an underdog but the seasons without playoffs stacking on top of each other get brutal. I got a few more years in Houston before college and I don't know if I ever will live here again. I really don't want my last years being a Rockets fan to be completely miserable. Even just a series like the Rockets and Lakers, you know the Rockets forcing 7 games with a star-team like the Lakers. That's something I want from the team, I'm not a obsessed with rings or acquiring superstars.
Of course not, but the Suns still have flexibility for next summer or to accept salary when making trades. No idea. They will probably end up in the $45-50 million range for this season and make a good profit. Next summer, maybe they will offer the max to a UFA.
One other thing I don't understand, you won't still be a rockets fan just because you won't live in Houston. No matter where i go, i will be a rockets fan.
I actually kind of hope the suns take our spot at 14 next year, all I am saying is that their signings awill lead them in no mans land.
