They get Howard, and I think they could give OKC a run for its WC money.
why does it always seem as if the lakers get really good players, without giving up much at all? first the pau gasol trade, and now this. smh.
the Kommissar should really thinkabout disappearing all the other 25 teams. Just let La NY and miami play.
Good move for us fans. Nash was a non-factor in Phoenix and LA was no longer a legitimate threat to come out of the west. Now we get another potential contender and Nash can actually make a difference. Classy move by Phoenix. I'm excited to see how Kobe looks alongside a real point guard. It could make him as efficient as ever.
I don't really get why people are mad about this one... Nash was leaving Phoenix either way and agreed to a S&T so he wouldn't be leaving the Suns with nothing. The Suns did him a solid and put him on a good team.
This sucks either way. Either Lakers will be good (UGH) or Nash will be relegated to being derek fisher.
Nash could have signed outright with anyone, that is true. He could not, however, sign for anything approaching this amount if he signed outright with LA. LA used their trade exception from the Lamar Odom deal to acquire Nash. Trade exceptions can't be used to sign free agents so for Nash to get the $9m starting salary it had to be a trade.Nash had already said that the money mattered. He wasn't going to go there for $3m/year.
I agree. I admire what Nash has done throughout his career and wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot at a ring.
