Or when Lin was here last year for open practice the Asian community once again came out in droves and brought out signs showing support.. The Asian Community are itching to have that feeling back again...

I knew Lin was at least a serviceable player when they cut him from the Rockets. I was realistically looking at him being a 10/5 role player... he ended up blowing up in NYK. Lol.

Oh no, you get me wrong. Asians will be everywhere following him as Yao was followed. But, the rest of America will forget b.c the Rockets won't play on National TV.

I understand you're asian and want him to be the face of the franchise, etc. But, were not NY. No one, but asians will care anymore.

 

Well yeah. He's not going to be the global sensation he was on NYK. That's a good thing. Because the same people that were hyping him up during that two week span are the same people that are trashing him and calling him overrated now.

I also blame ESPN. Running Jeremy Lin stories and talking about Jeremy Lin 24/7 is going to piss a lot of people off. I ****ing hate it when they milk stories. I bet you Thomas Robinson's story will be milked and that's just sad on ESPN's part. They bring people up and tear people down for profit (look at LeBron).

 

Lin's alright. I would rather have either Dragic or Lowry, but Lin showed he's capable of being a starter.

I'm with you that i would rather have Dragic first, Lowry 2nd. But, by no means will i be upset if Lin ends up as our starter. Right now i'm just a bit upset at the thought of losing Gogi who is my fav Rocket. I'm tired of not being able to root for a player for a year or two b4 he leaves my team. I can't get attached to any player anymore if we lose Gogi.

 

Also, i can't just follow him to another team. Say Lin's contract really is back loaded. Lin won't be on this team after 2 years if he ends up being avg at best as a player. The asian community will just follow him wherever he goes. I didn't follow Hakeem to Toronto and i'm not following any former Rocket. I can't do that. That's one of the annoying things about Lin. There will be LOF popping up everywhere. The good-they will be gone as soon as he's gone.

Just give me a player i really like and can actually feel safe to buy his jersey.

 

Lin and Dragic put up similar offensive numbers but Dragic is so much better on defense than Lin it is not even close.

Why are the Rockets willing to offer Lin that kind of money and not a guy who wants to play in Houston, who loves the city and the coach, and plays great on both sides of the ball?

Dragic is a better player, why are the Rockets so willing to settle on the lessor player if they are truly trying to build a winner.

I like Lin, but if you are willing to pay him $7.5 million a year on average than Goran is certainly worth more than $9 million a year.
