Ya.. definitely a good read. It shows that griffin is merely human, and that hes trying as hard as he can to get better at his game.

I'm encouraged to hear that Griffin is trying hard. He could still pan out and become a good PF in the future.

I have to say, I thought his low-post game looked very much improved last night -- he looked very confident with his moves, and had good form. A couple of shots just went in and came out.

As you can see my signature at the bottom... I like Francis a lot. But I want Griffin to be great, which i think he can be. I think he is the last piece for this team to be great. Kind of like a James Worthy for Magic and Kareem.

The only thing you can say is he is only 20, and that hopefully each game he will get a bit better.

Great read. EG will come along and make all the doubters feel foolish.

Just like the guards setting down picks for Ming, it would be nice to see them do it for griffin also. We all know he can't post up bang and all that, but is it too hard for him to start on 1 blk, get a pick and roll to the other?

I'm sure the Griffin reads this board. That's why we should be offering support and constructive criticism when necessary. I am galled when I read the, shall we say, non-encouraging and "trade E.G." posts.

Most of us are old enough to weather criticism, but we should remember that he is only 20 -- we do him and the Rockets harm when we as posters engage in stupidity like the "Griffin is a Pimp" thread (which incidently I won't even open).

Eddie, if you do read this, there are many of us out there that support you 100%. You owe us 100% in return, so learn, grow and do your best. That's all we ask.

Poor kid. EG needs to learn sleeping from Yao to overcome the pressure. I think Yao has more pressure compared to EG.

Good article. Reading that article just confirms that he's not comfortable down low yet. It obvious in the way he rushes his shots.

I wonder where did larry smith ever learn anything about post play? At least Mark Aguirre was a beast in the post during his day. Dantley would be good for griffins development.

Griffin is still my favorite player from last year. I hope that he can make his transition from mediocrity to "All-Star" as quick and painless as possible.

I wish Eddie would just box out, clear the board, and kick it back out to Francis. That's what we need. If he gets the ball 3 ft away, ok, drop step and ram it home. Otherwise, no need to go testing your post game. We have other ways to score.

I am thinking he doesn't shoot enough to keep him in the rhythm of the game.

I think they need to look for opportunities to get Griffin the ball in the key so that he can become more successful in the paint. Seems running an occasional pick-and-roll with Francis from Griffin's normal 3pt line position on the court would get him opportunities to shoot inside. They would also prevent teams from simply having a defender in Griffin's face on the perimeter.

BTW, it does seem that Griffin is trying to shoot more from other places on the court. And as the article says, he didn't play out on the perimeter in college, so he hopefully he will get more into the paint.

That all said, he isn't looked to for much more scoring than he already provides... this has been a guard-oriented offense that is just now expanding to include Yao. As long as he is moreefficient in his sccoring AND continues to rebound, block shots, and improve his man-to-man defense I think he contributes...

Any player shooting below 40% has no business shooting 10 shots a game, especially jumpshots. He needs to go strong to the hole and get fouls and get his percentage up BEFORE he is an option to score.

Right now EG is a black hole, he needs to pass the ball more often, and shoot less.
