If we lose Gogi then its a FAIL for me. However I really like Lamb, White and Jones picks this year, really want to see the young guys play and see how they develop.
Dont see the point in a D12 trade now with Lee likely gone and nobody else elite to keep Dwight around if we possibly trade for him. REBUILD TIME!!

There is still a lot of time left. We aren't even to July 11th yet where deals can be made official. I don't want to judge the offseason when only 1 or 2 major moves have been made by any team.

Plus you can't judge our roster till you've seen them play. Who knows what will happen next year. I don't want to sign someone just to bring in a name, if the smart choice isn't there, don't do anything. Make a bad deal and it ends up biting you in the ass the next few years.

    Pros
    • I think the Rockets draft picks this year have star potential
    • Added a strong defensive presence in Omer Asik (Assuming Chi doesn't match offer)

    Cons
    • Rumored franchise changing trades didn't happen
    • Didn't resign Lee
    • Unlikely to resign Dragic
    • Lowry is unhappy
    • Still not sure if the Rockets have chosen a path - tank or still treading water?

    Up in the air
    • Assuming Dragic is actually gone, hopefully McHale can smooth things over with Lowry. The Rockets will need a good PG.
    • Sign Jeremy Lin?
    • Trade Scola?
    • Please trade Kevin Martin.

Whether Morey is able to pull off a few blockbusters to realize contender status or not, this roster needs fixing. It will be interesting to see what it looks like come training camp time.

You're right. That's exactly why I wanted Lin.
He sucks so much he's going to tank our team into the next four NBA drafts.
God, I can't get over how bad Lin is. Dumb Asian should stick to playing with his calculator and not playing basketball!

7 has been my reaction to mostly everything so far, seems hope is all we have left.

Lol you just had to title it "How Horrible" as opposed to "How is the offseason so far". Ah well, Misery loves company I guess...

I don't see how anybody can rate it a 10.

I think if you told the people of Cleveland or Orlando that you rated it 10, they'd laugh at you.

Actually, if you want to give it a 10, you'd probably need to speak to the people of Seattle after the 2007 season and get their opinion.

Of course it isn't all sunshine and lollypops, but it could always be worse.

It only feels bad because the Rockets are trying to, and the folks are probably unrealistically expecting them to, make home run moves.

Is this offseason really worse than the last one? With one trade (which isn't even popular among fans) being voided. FA pursuits of Nene and Marc Gasol failing. Settling for Sam Dalembert last minute.

At least the Rockets still have a chance to get something interesting done, and have some pieces with which to make a move. The roster is unbalanced now with all the draftees added, but you don't have a game tomorrow night.

Can't really call it a fail. Market has been set with Eric Gordon's contract. Gogi is likely to get 8 or 9 I would imagine.

In a way it makes the Rockets decision a little easier. There were reports Lowry was over his beef and ready to continue on with Houston. If that is true you can save 3 m and keep a player who is better defensively, tougher, and arguably just as good a shooter. He doesn't set his teammates up as effectively though.

Coach needs to tell management what to do in this situation. Which players skill set fits his system best.

I know we are all about instant reaction now, but these things take time to figure out.

I wonder how the Detroit Pistons fans felt about their offseason in summer 2009. Tons of cap room! Signed two of the biggest name FAs! How do they feel about it now?

I found 7 to be a very good descriptor of my feelings. So that's what I voted.

Holy crap! Please calm down! We are literally 3 days into the offseason... There are gonna be trades and there are going to be players being signed.

What's everyones deal with Lin!? Probably 90% of clutchfans thought we were stupid for letting him go after he broke out in NY, now you all hate him??

I only saw a couple guys that said we should pay Goran the 10 mil, now everyone is pissed that we aren't??

There's no way Gordan was coming to Hou, NO was always going to match. And if they were gonna to a S&T we would lose our prospects and you guys would complain about that.

It's never good enough for you people!!

Pistons fans weren't excited at all during that offseason. Everyone knew Villanueva and Gordon got bad deals.

Like the one Morey's about to give to Lin to replace a player he's worse than despite already having a replacement who is better than both of them.

It's not the fruitless free agent pursuits (Asik is a positive) that are such downers to me, it's the prospect of losing Lee and Dragic for nothing that really sting. Unless there's some as of yet unseen plan coming together here it just undeniably feels like regression.

I just think because of the way Raymond Felton went from good as a Knick(17&9), to average as a Trail-Blazer(11&6), the same will happen to Lin. Lin is product of D'Antoni high paced, pick and roll motion offense.
