Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen The Rockets will offer a deal similar to the contract Dragic turned down, source said.
ya know what I don't get...is that if they didn't plan on paying Goran this kind of money, (which they knew how much he was going to ask for), then why oh why did the organization treat Lowry like this. Obviously we need one or the other, unless we're tanking. But real talk, if we lose both and don't get an equal/higher caliber PG in return, and DON'T TANK...then I'd really be steamed.
How do you know who in the organization treated Lowry poorly. Do you think it was on purpose? Are you sure it wasn't part of Lowry's personal issues? Why the hell would we trade Kyle on that contract if we lost Goran? What purpose would that serve? USE YOUR BRAIN.
Just like Morey his using his brain? Koolaid taste good, don't it bro? Kyle is a whiny b****. That's his rep. He's had it since college and presumably before that as well. He wouldn't have been like that if WHOEVER in the organization (presumably McHale or Morey) would've just given him his starting position back when he returned. What my brain wants to know, if you must know, is why we played Goran so much last year even when Kyle came back? Because he was flowing with the offense better? PFF, worst excuse ever. "Great, so we just going to tout our backup PG around to the league for the remainder of this season as to increase his value and ultimately make him unascertainable for next season, only to bring in our now, disgruntled former starting PG who well let's be honest, didn't flow as well with the offense as the other did." *sigh*
Kyle was returning from illness and injury. It takes time to get back in game shape. If you had noticed, Kyle's return ruined the momentum of the team on many occasions. Also, it was discovered that he was rushed back too soon, hence sitting him out the rest of the year. In any case, if the team had hopes of retaining Dragic, I'm not sure why they wouldn't continue to let him start. It seems to me you are just looking for something or someone to blame, when the reality of the situation is that Goran is trying to get the most money possible. I'm not even sure why you are b****ing about the way the organization handled Kyle. He is under a great contract for many more years. He isn't going anywhere without our consent. Something you clearly didn't understand with your last post.
well would it not behoove an organization to maybe make sure a player who is bound to them for quite the foreseeable future, remains happy?
funny how EVERYONE jumps to conclusions that Goran won't budge off 10 mill a year, yet no one has even reported what our GM offered.. he probably low balled him which is what Moreyball is.. looking for everything "on the cheap".. there are probably 5 guys morey would even overpay.. u wanna win and i think Dragic could be a 20ppg 8.5asts a game type pg then u gotta give him 10mill a year and get rid of scola, kmart and Lowry and rebuild other positions around Dragic, parsons, D-mo… everyone else should SILENTLY be on the table… so anyone know what Morey even offered.. hard to believe he offered him 7.5-8mill a year when they say both sides are FAR APART.. he probably offered him 5mill a year..
Thats gonna be a poison pill for the Knicks...Rockets and Morey are poaching on teams that have bad contracts on their Roster...Amare is killing the knicks right now...
One thing to remember is that Lowry should not be a Rocket right now. Pretty much all signs pointed to Thomas Robinson going #2, at least top 3, definitely not 5. If he doesn't drop, Houston had a great chance to pick up the #5. Lowry would have been gone. But lowry is still here, and including him in a deal is getting less and less likely. That right there is probably the difference between offering goran 8 mill and something closer to 10 mill...
It's best not to think about what could have been. No use reflecting on that, we just have to focus on what our team is now and how we can move forward from this position.
You can not blame a guy for wanting ... 1. The most $$$ he can get in a limited career. 2. A guaranteed starting job. If the Rockets wanted him they should have extended him the summer before when he was cheaper, now maybe he would have taken only the QO, but you never know. Morey decided he was not important enough to keep him restricted, and here we are.... DD
