Hmmmm I just read on ESPN Insider, that PHX is not going to go overboard in retaining nash. I'm hoping they get desperate and would be willing to listen to offers for Gortat... pipe dream... maybe...
Speaking of the Hornets at #10 if Morey would quit overvaluing every asset like it's gold we wouldn't have three 1st rd picks. He should have traded #14, #16 for #10 when they offered it instead of trading for three bums to move up 2 spots to #12 trading our only center on the team. Could have gotten Meyers Leonard at #10 then possibly R. White/T. Jones at #18. Now we essentially got 7 rookies all about at the same position with Parsons/Morris/Motiejunas/Leuer/Lamb/White/Jones Some news best be on the way Morey!!
[1] Lowry, Martin, Morris to Utah for Kanter, Harris, Bell [Harris has 9M expiring] [2] Scola, T.Jones and 2014 1st (protected) to Atlanta for J.Smith [Smith has 12M expiring] - Re-sign Camby for short-term ($4M, 2 yrs), re-sign Dragic for long-term ($8.5M, 5 yrs). Sign Ish Smith for cheap ($1.5M, 3 yrs). 2012-2013 lineup Camby / Kanter J.Smith / Motiejunas / Patterson Parsons / White* Lee / Lamb* Dragic / Harris / Smith Then after the year, Smith's and Harris' $21M combined come off the books, Camby can be dealt to a contender (if he wants) and we sucked it up for a high pick. Re-sign Lee ($5M, 4 yrs), and then we draft a top defensive C like Nerlens Noel at say, #3 overall...we'd have: 2013 Post-Draft Lineup Noel* / Kanter Motiejunas / Patterson White / Parsons Lamb / Lee Dragic / Smith That lineup would equate to about a $30M salary total, which is about $30M under the cap. If we get a stud (or two) out of high-upside guys like Lamb, White and Motiejunas, we have ourselves a very impressive young team, with tons of cap-flexibility to add some stars to the picture.
Time to get in on that Pau to Minnesota deal. I know we end up with another 4 but he can be moved easily and we get a center. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=83l8cse
Rudy Gay Trade What do you think of Rudy Gay for K-Mart and Patrick Patterson...We get a quasi-star and drop an unhappy player in K-mart and unload one of our many undersized PF in our arsenal. Still need to address the Center position (Camby will remain a great backup)...but think its a step in the right direction and still have Lowry as trade bait for a serviceable center. Think lamb is going to end up being a great draft pick. Hes a comparable shooter to kmart but has a much bigger wingspan to give him great potential as being a defender....something we all know kmart has never been... Goran/Forston (maybe undrafted Machado) Lamb/Lee Gay/Parsons/Morris Scola/D-Mo/............ ??/Camby I like that lineup....
Did you hear them talking about trading for gay on 790 too? They migh accept Martin considering he's an expiring contract. Throw in marcus Morris and PP and they could be happy with that. I don't think they are really happy with having Rudy Gay on a max contract while paying Marc and Randolph so much. Even Conley is getting 8m
Well i assume wed have to throw some other things in to sweeten the deal but as far as the nucleus of the deal...Memphis has 4 large contracts now and Kmart has an expiring contract which could be attractive to them...just a thought

Really like this trade, Wolves probably want more from that deal. We can add Martin in the deal and somehow exchange d-will or Pekovic to ALT to get J-SMITH... then sign a FA C.
Here's something I just thought up of: Rockets trade: Lowry Scola Martin Jones Bulls trade: Boozer Noah Teague We buy out Boozer. We now have a young, defensive anchor at the center position and if we go ahead and re-up Dragic, Lee, and Camby you have: Dragic/Teague/Fortson Lee/Lamb Parsons/Morris/White Patterson/Motiejunas/White Noah/Camby Lamb, Morris, White, and especially Motiejunas all have star potential; if even one or two of them reach their ceiling, you're looking at a nice core for the next 4-5 years in combination with Dragic and Noah. Chicago gets their stop-gap at PG until Rose returns (Lowry has a team option for 2013 and they can flip him or do whatever after this upcoming season), get the legit SG they've been looking for (and KMart's expiring), and get essentially what Boozer was producing in Scola with a slightly better contract. They re-up Asik and they're good to go to challenge Miami in the East. Talent-wise, we obviously lose big time in this trade. But we aren't winning anything with Martin and Scola, and we grab a quality center which is rather hard to come by in this league. And we clear some room for Lamb and the PFs to develop. Of course, this is a Plan B or C if Morey can't land Howard or some other star. Go easy on me
Martin, Patterson, and Morris to Minnesota for Wesley Johnson and Ridnour Lowry, Scola, Jones, Brockman to LA for Pau Gasol Resign Dragic, Lee Dragic/Ridnour Lamb/Lee/Livingston Johnson/Parson D-Mo/White/Leuer Gasol/Camby
