Could we get Allen Houston here in Houston, if Ewing goes to Seattle? This guy is a great human being and great team player. This is exactly the type of player Rudy loves. Allen's addition would further help us with our teams chemistry and stablity. Already with the addition of Mo, normally another player addition could harm current team chemistry, but Allen Houston is one of the few players in the league that can come in and not hurt team chemistry. With Allen, hurting team chemistry will never be an issue, this guy can flat out contribute in may ways.
From an article that I was reading on BSKball.com http://www.bskball.com/Rumors.htm.
NO EWING-NO HOUSTON- If the Knicks have to trade Patrick Ewing, then they have to trade Allan Houston. Houston owns a free exit exit this next summer (2001) if Ewing is gone from NY, so is Houston. He is not happy with Sprewell in the backcourt, and there are options out there that will give Allan a family environment, something he is said to really want.
I would like this to happen, if it is possible. With Rudy and Allan together, with the U.S. Olympic Team, this is sure to help our chances of getting him.
This is just an idea, I have no clue if this is even possible, but just a thought. Now you all can rip this apart.

Why do we need Houston? We already have Cuttino.

    Firstly:

We do not need Allan Houston in any way shape or form - we have 2 SG's and we don't need a third.

    Secondly:

Who is to say that Allan Houston REALLY wants to leave NY?? BskBall.com?? Say no more!!

Yeah we will see Mobley play for 5 minutes each night.

If houston was to come here, then either mobley or anderson would get traded for him in the deal. I dont know why Im saying this because this wont even happen!!!

    1) I am not convinced we even need Allan Houston.

    2) His current contract pays him more this year than ANYBODY on the Rocks except Hakeem.

    3) Allan Houston makes nearly as much as Cat and Shandon COMBINED.

    4) Currently, Allan Houston makes 2.7 times as much as Steve and they both have contracts ending after the 2003 season.

    5) Fixating on high profile players and having pipe dreams about them on the Rockets is just NOT FUN. If I'm gonna have major fantasies about something, it's me and Anna Kournikova, a bottle of wine, and a secluded beach. How 'bout we keep this forum somewhat real.

I would trade Cat to get Houston. AH is on the dream team for a reason. He is also a "long" player who would fit into our team defensive scheme.

    Francis
    Houston
    Anderson
    Taylor
Cato+ whoever we can get in a Mobley trade
    + Langhi, Norris, KT, Collier
+ Free agent with extra cap room=

Top 6 team in NBA (?)

I really don't know if this would work, but its fun to think about.

The defense is what I like in this scenero.
    A defense for the future.
But Cat leaving is impossible. That is true.
But fun to think about it.

Actually the way I see it, if we got Allan Houston we would have a three guard lineup that Rudy wants. We would probably have to trade Cato and Walt for him, is that really worth it though? I think it would actually be better to wait until next year and try to pull Michael Finley from the Mavs. Besides, the deal on the table for the Knicks right now is Camby and Houston for Mutombo.

I would LOVE to have Allan Houston on this team. I don't give a rat's tail about his ability, or the fact that we don't need him, on the fact that there's no way in HELL we could afford him.
In my eye, his biggest selling point is the fact that I'm TIRED of turning on SportsCenter, and hearing the word "Houston," just to find out it has NOTHING to do with Houston at ALL... it's just Knicks highlights....

    Man that pisses me off....
