Wow, let's hold it right there. Last I heard, cc.net was not much into the rumor business. They only record/report actual reports, with appropriate links. All rumors, and dreamcast scenarios are on the boards here. And, I really would like to hear you say that the bskball message boards are better than Clutch City's. Please, try it.

Why don't you try to address Aelliots original points about how this deal won't work instead of puffing out your chest.
**** Well for one...I did not originate the rumor in question....My piece was regarding Damon Stoudamire being the next to be traded from Portland..... The individual that copied it to here...then added their own ideas of what they think would work....which clearly does not..... I have been told that Damon is unhappy...The Blazers fans are calling for his head, and from what I have been told based on what he will cost the team cash wise...If they can find a good deal, they would move him...When I commented that he didn't make that much...I was given the explanation I gave you....At $9 million Damon is chump change to Allen, easily stash able on the bench, but in a Luxury Tax situation he costs more than that...if you move him you solve several issues---- first and for most--you move an unhappy player---2nd--- you create more minutes for you new guys and 3rd---You reduce what you'd pay to the league.

whoa, whoa, whoa. While I certainly don't view Bskball.com the bastion of misinformation, there is no way that your site anyway compares to the accuracy contained in Clutchcity.NET.
**** Now, Clutch is my boy, and I would never discount his site...but every site carries what's being discussed...I can list you a dozen different things that have run here that didn't happen... That's part of the game. Clutch provides a different site style and format.... I love Clutch's design, and its implementation... Clutch has also collected a large number of support people to help him maintain the site, and the volumes of information it contains.... As I maintain my site myself, there are limits to what can be done.
Why would MOST of the information in that section be true?
**** I have a 2 separate source rule... If I can not confirm a rumor as accurate or valid from 2 separate, unrelated sources. I do not printed it. Sometimes I take leaps of faith that the data I have at hand is the most accurate data out there. As every NBA team has official policy regarding trades and rumors, it is hard to get anyone to seriously nail down what they are talking about. Everyone speaks in generalities and everyone is hiding something. Its not easy to get the information I provide to you. Its take a lot of work. I put substantially more work into the rumor mill, than any of you give me credit for.

    BOTTOM LINE-
If you don't agree---then don't agree..... but don't challenge the creditability of the site or the accuracy of the information contained in it...
Everyone printing or talking about rumors is doing algebra..... This guy + Unknown Guy= Player we want

    ALSO-

Don't try and turn this dicussion into an Anti-Clutch campaign by me.

I TRULY TRUST AND RESPECT THE WORK DONE HERE. CLUTCH AND I HAVE HAVE SHARED AND WILL CONTINUE TO SHARE CONTACTS, INFORMATION AND LINKS and SUPPORT FOR EACH OTHER.

You guys are running with something that was taken from my site, and added to as though its something I have said--- UNTRUE

You have gone on to defend your critisim of the concept, by continuing to attribute it to me- AGAIN UNTRUE.

Your are attempting to devaluate the message the actual post had to say- DAMON IS AVAILABLE, and there is more to it than just not fitting in.

    ------------ beyond that--------------
Take the site for excatly what it is..... A source for another educated opinion on the subject matter in play.

Hey, as long as bskball is visiting this thread, thought I would bring out a minor gripe:

    I HATE POPUP ADS!

I've stopped visiting that site for that very reason. I can live with ads all over the screen, but not those @#$! popups. Pure evil.

Ummm.... we are the people who surf the net and WE choose where we want to go. If your site prints up bad information on a pretty consistent basis then I'm certainly not going to go there.
You can come on here and get angry and try and defend your site, but to me that just makes your site look worse! If it is sucha good and reliable source then you wouldn't need to come on here and make up scoops that you've had - heck you wouldn't even have to come on here!
And as was mentioned earlier, Aelliot knows more about the cap than you do!

What was the topic again? [IMG]

Oh, yeah. Wouldn't it have to be a three-way deal for us to acquire Stoudamire in order to obtain Jamison? Players can't be traded twice in the same three months or something like that, right?

I suppose I'll fill in for aelliott, as a junior capologist. [IMG]

Hypothetically, it could either be a 3 way trade, or the Rockets would have 2 days (or is it 3? I'm fairly sure it's 2.) to deal Damon. On another note, I believe he can be traded whenever as long as he'd be the only player being traded from the Rockets (ie: no starch from us could be thrown in)

    and also, it's 2 months (60 days)

Bskball has showed me one things in this thread: he is often wrong but for some reason cocky. I check out his site for one reason: entertainment and something to talk about with friends. Not for good analysis or truth. And with these new pop-ups, my visits there have been less and less. I just rely on the BBS to post anything important said there.

No offense, bskball, but why exactly are you here even discussing it? I can't imagine that trolling the various boards for shots taken at your site could be all that interesting or productive.

I guess that just goes to show that the this time of year is just the absolute worst for basketball (or bskball) fans.

    Actually,
Ive seen bskball here before, usually when someone takes a jab at his site though.

But, I for one, unlike everyone here, take his site for what its worth. He is a one man show running an entire site credible, at least enough, to merit continual discussion and visits by a portion of this audience as well as others throughout the country. No, his grammar isnt very good at all, but who cares. I used to visit bskball.com everyday and he isnt lying, usually he IS the one arguing against trades or for them FOR salary cap reasons. Further, he is often very accurate. Usually more so than posters here. While there are exceptions, such as Popeye, Doc Rocket, etc, most of the time people here are just blabbing about some deal or another. Im sure everyone remembers the foray of talk that went on when Austin Croshere was coming to town. No, nobody ever said a deal was in the works or done, but bskball isnt saying that about this deal either. Like people here, he is specualting, and usually he does it in combination with other sites like NBATalk and prosportspages, etc, etc. He seems to know a fair deal about the salary cap, and while Ive learned to trust Aelliots position on this matter I have no reason to believe that Aelliot knows more than bskball. Even if so, I know that Aelliot isnt busy running his own site and worrying about all the minuteist of details.

All Im saying is, while bskball is pretty cocky, generally so are the people here whenever someone perceived as an outsider invades our precious clutchcity.

Give the guy a break. He is at least providing some interesting topics to talk about.
