That's because the Chiefs were being stubborn and didn't want a controversy and they were so infatuated with Elvis Grbac. (I'm a Chiefs fan too)

Anyway, back on topic, I watched the game last night and Kenny was passing out a lot more than he did with us. I like Kenny, but his services were no longer needed in Houston.

He's passing a lot more because he's not getting isolated like he was with the Rockets. Notice how Cuttino will continue to get isos the rest of the year. It's Rudy's offense.

And I think we could use Kenny right now actually...

I guess its because he has only had a couple starts... and his 8 rebounds per game would make him the Rockets #1 rebounder..

The Sixers have a bigger logjam at foreward than the Rockets, it didnt take KT long to become a starter. I ve seen most of KTs games as a Sixer on NBA leage pass,,hes been playing "really good".

Yep, he's good. Remember he also won the starting spot at PF with the Rockets not too long ago.

Thats the difference it seems, spacing in the Sixer offense is better than the Rockets, they always have open guys to pass to.
It could just be that they are a more experienced team ..but the Rockets are more talented.
KT is playing as well as anyone on their team. Hes still missing the jumper. but if he ever develops one he will be tough to stop.

zzhiggins,

How much small forward does he play?
How much does he guard a SF, and
How much does a SF guard him?

I wish I had league pass. KT is a smart player with solid defense, and Brown likes him. There's a good chance Monte Williams will not get his starting spot back, and KT could actually pull off 36+ mpg with that team.

But, with 18 shots last night, it sounds like Kenny is playing for a contract like a malcontent, again. ;)

I'll tell you one thing: That Posey block of Shandon's "He's a great slasher" fastbreak from behind made that miserable Knicks loss worthwhile. There's always something fun to see and take home with you, no matter what, and Posey gave me that for the Knicks fiasco.

GO POSEY!!!

HP,

I think KT was the best PF the Rocks had, however, I think EG will be better.

Also no one would take Mo T with the way he is playing.

KT got caught up in the numbers game, he should have stayed a Rocket, but there was no room, and his minutes would have continued to dwindle.

Posey however, has a chance to really fit in nicely.

I have a feeling when KVH is playing, KT won't get enough minutes to "take over" the 76ers. Poor KT. Too many PF's here, too many PF's there with KVH and Coleman.

41% FG shooting from the power forward spot? Hmmm, that sounds strangely familiar. :)

(actually, eddie is 39%, but close enough)

Its hard to tell, I dont tape the games..He starts at sf then they subsitute and then hes at pf if the other team goes small. They always match him up with a player his size..if the other team goes big he stays at sf.
When Larry Brown subsitutes AI and KT are the ones that stay in the game. VanHorne didnt play last night, forcing KT to play more pf than normal...He will average 30-36 minutes with these guys.
KT looks like their best defender, and on offense their spacing gives him a lot more room going to the basket. He will be a key player with them.

When he plays with Van Horn, do the defenders guard VH with a SF and KT with a PF? Brown has said that Kenny will start at SF until Williams comes back, so there seems to be a chance that KT will get to challenge Williams for his starting position.

What I'm curious about is if that is all just official roster positions, when in reality Van Horn plays more SF than KT. Certainly, VH played SF with Kenyon Martin, right?

Just for the record, KT is playing SF, KVH is playing PF and DC is coming off the bench as a center.

Also, in the game last night, not once did I see KT iso'd 15 feet from the basket with the ball, like his entire offense was with the Rox. Well, maybe once. Additionally, he would've had 10+ assists if Snow or AI could've hit a jumper.

As far as the title of the post, no one is taking over the sixers as long as AI is on the team.

HeyP,

watched a couple of Kt/Sixer games, off the top of my head one was against Lakers, Coleman and MacCulloch played C and Van Horn played PF and guarded Horry and Walker and KT came in for McKie and played SF and guarded Fox with ease. On offense and this is the difference, Van horn was guarded by their PF and played outside and Kenny schooled Fox in the post, he is a good fit with KVH, because is they mix it up which the Lakers did twice then Kenny took Walker off the dribble with his spin move and KVH posted up Fox/George for the turn around.

So i short the big difference is Brown has him guarding SF and then at the other end posts him up if he is guarded by the SF, if not then KVH posts up.

Which really is the plan you had for him that is Eddie could post up and teams couldn't get away with SF on him.

He was definitely playing some at the three against Phoenix. He was on the court with two of the three (Todd, Coleman and Skinner) for most of the game. But, that is a little misleading because the Suns played Bo Outlaw for quite a few minutes. I know for sure KT guarded Bo and I am pretty sure Bo guarded KT. I will definitely pay close attention to the next game KVH plays to see if KT truly plays the three in Philly!

thx smeggy and bigboy,

yeah, that was my plan with MoT and KT where one of them could school the SF in the low post, since MoT can always pull a PF out.

sigh

I guess that's what zzhiggins means by getting better spacing on Philly.

I hope that Kenny does well in Philly .... he was one of the only consistant Rockets ... plus he was a really nice guy ... nothing personal against Mo Taylor or anything, but I don't think that he has proven himself to justify this trade .... I hope that Kenny lights the Rockets up for a bunch of points every time they play Philly just to prove how wrong they were for trading him ....

Dallas Game-
He started at the three and defended Finley. He got in foul trouble but not because of Finley. He received one foul going after a rebound and another for running into Bell. He defended Finley for about 10 minutes. But he played the three for another 20 minutes.

Detroit Game-
He again played predominantly at the three. Again a little misleading because he defended and was defended by Williamson. Is Williamson a four or a three. I think if their is any player out we can compare KT to, it is Williamson. You agree HP?
