SBNation blog NetsDaily got tricked by a fake twitter account that falsely (obviously) reported that the Rockets had landed Dwight Howard. Think this is going to become more of a problem for the regurgitation sites.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>BREAKING 3way trade between GSW,HOU, ORL Sends Dwight 2 Houston sends #7, Kyle Lowry, and Kevin Martin to ORL, 12 and 16 to GS, More 2 come.</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@VVojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/VVojYahooNBA/status/218211844194701312" data-datetime="2012-06-28T05:18:52+00:00">June 28, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> TROLLOL
Dayaam, we gave up a lot in that report for a rental. I really hope we move up in the draft and get some quality rookies. Then go after some quality FAs next week.
sbnation actually produces quality NBA content. Writers like Tom Ziller and Mike Prada work for them. It is essentially a conglomerate of blogs operated at the local level by fans of the respective team; for instance, the rockets local blog "The Dream Shake" is entirely authored by fans. It does not purport itself to be a news site.
I apparently posted this in feedback,,,mentioning the Woj scam http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=221860 to remind people how much work the crew does tonight the same minute Clutch posted this thread. Must be annoying yet gratifying to Clutch that he has to deal with these scams tonight, yet not fall for them (lock the threads within 3-4 posts) and prove the sites quality...
that's was what I was about to say, bynum is nice but 3 first rounders and the love of teenage girls? nah
curious...how much money did that website make tonight by getting faked out. And will anyone remember it again to avoid them. so sucks how sites can make money like this on getting "faked out" ... my conspiracy theorist mind (which is pretty non-existent) wonders if some of this was planned, because the info in this "article" is more than what was in the small fake tweet, right?
Very nice, fake woj. I wonder how many Nets fans saw it before it was proven fake. I would love to see the comments.
