That was because of the League not the station.

740 does the same thing with the Astros.

790 will do the same thing.

Great news. Aside from the fact that 790 has the best talent IMO, I think they'll give the Rockets the attention they deserve. Really good partnership for both sides.

When did 790 get the Astros? I didn't hear about them leaving KTRH?

    Yep...it's LAME!

    I don't live in Houston.

And we have no real sports radio out here in east tx....

So I listen on my phone with Tunein Radio and Pandora for music (thanks SCIONXA)

Oops, for some reason I thought 790 had an affiliation with the Astros, and Charlie interviews Brad Mills a lot.

Matt Thomas does the post game shows and he has a talk show on 790 but thats the only affiliation. If 790 gets rockets I hope they keep Greg Ackermann. Dude, does an awesome job.

They keep CRAIG because he is employed by the Rockets, not the radio station.

So the 790 checklist left is:

    - Texans
    - Rich Lord

Don't care much for Rich Lord, and the way Rich Lord feels he must always use a person's full name, as Rich Lord does, but pairing him with Charlie would restore some balance to the universe I guess.

740 is a sister station of 790, both owned by Clearchannel.

So, technically, 790 does have a stake in the Astros though they don't air the games or have any Astros-specific programming.

It's part of the media restriction rules on broadcasts set out by the league. If anyone could download an app to listen to the games, how would they be able to sell the packages that let out of towners listen?

Your average clutchfans crony would be a much better listen than the douchebags 610 runs out there. At least we watch the damn games. Nothing pisses me off more than hearing a radio host read a box score then proceed to spew off junk that sounds just like what the national media would perceive our franchise to be as.

I'll take rose colored glasses any day of the week over full on blinders. MattJ gets extra bonus points for actually knowing about Clutchfans and picking up rumors and salient points of interest off us. Most other radio hosts aren't even big enough fans of sports to give us the time of day, much less talk about the things we want to hear. I'm ecstatic that the duo that used to run the Rockets postgame show in the late 90's will once again be reunited with the franchise. That used to be THE best postgame show ever.
