I've been having trouble sleeping lately and a friend recommended me to use certain sounds in the background to help me.. I found this on youtube and thought about leaving my laptop on tonight with this playing.... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9lj1oFE0YB8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> any tips or recommendations?
Listen to Liquid Mind. Certainly, it will induce a good night's sleep. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/__7eSgBbxoQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
http://www.marleysmellowmood.com/ Kinda weird, but use this. I usually get by on about 3 hours of sleep a night (not by choice) and this helps me when I drink it.
rub one out, and if that doesnt work, a melatonin. Make sure you keep yourself both physically and mentally challenged throughout the day, that always help.
Don't listen them. You don't want to become a chronic masturbator like them. Just drink your warm milk and turn off the computer an hour before bed.
Melatonin. Cold shower (you want to bring your body temp down--not up). Sleep mask. Eating schedule changes (no food before bed).
Your preoccupations with work, friends, or family, are making you think about them at the time you need to rest. Either figure out what exactly is keeping you up like worrying, noises, ambient lighting, etc., by talking to your physician or to an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat specialist), who may have to do a sleep study where you are recorded via sensors and cameras, or fix something physical. You may have insomnia, sleep deprivation due to other factors like sleep apnea, snoring, etc., or something else, but right now is the time to check this. Or, it could be that you're just not comfortable in the place where you live or the spot where you're sleeping. While I agree that some short-term solutions like warm milk, a quick masturbation, or smoking a joint might do the trick for one or a few nights, they might not fix the entire problem. Either way, don't let this take away your quality of life. Get checked quickly. Hoping for good riddance of this for you.
Serious answer: Ambiance is a phone app I use to sleep on the bus every afternoon. It has loops of every relaxing sound you can think of. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ambiance/id285538312?mt=8
