Even though i am not as pro-Howard as most of the posters are on this board, i kind of want to see us pull it off just to stuff it in Aldridge's face. Cannot stand the guy! Biggest NBA hack-journalist, and certified Stern-b****.

Being traded to Houston and signing a long-term deal to stay in Houston are two differnet things. Aldridge is just reporting the news. I see no problem with that.

Source close to Brooklyn PG Deron Williams says Houston not likely to be added to his free agency wish list even if the Rockets get Dwight Howard. Williams is focused on the Nets or Dallas, his hometown team. If Williams felt differently and headed for Houston, and Howard signed the extension that no one thinks he'd ever sign, I'm guessing Rockets GM Daryl Morey would then be given a 27-year extension of his own

There goes that theory that if Dwight comes, Deron will follow

hell, i'm happy just continuing to purge vets and assets, and collect additional picks. Someone said that Houston isn't interested in collecting a van-load of rookies, but maybe they should be. If we did somehow manage to get a top 5 pick, keeping it is not a bad move. Rebuilding through this draft would be just fine with me.

Why has no one mentioned Chris Paul as a possibility? He hasn't agreed to his player option for 2012-13 yet, has he?

Seems within reason to me that if we get DHo and DWill doesn't want to come, that CP3 should strongly consider filling that void.

    Or am I missing something?

Yes, he opted in right when he was traded.

Well now I wonder if Williams' and Howard's camps are colluding about trying to scare off Houston.

What you are missing is that if Deron Williams isn't interested in being here regardless of Dwight's status, there is no reason to think Paul would want to be here either.

Deron and Dwight are doing EXACTLY what the Rockets need them to do.

Keep pretending like you're not interested in playing for the Rockets. That'll only make Dwight cheaper to trade for.

Of course they are. But Howard is a bigger star than Deron and would gravitate to Dwight.
