That was a rough inning. And cost them the game. One more chance.

    Lets go purple and white!

Interesting choice by LSU's Paul Mainieri. He's going with ace Kevin Gausman to start the resumption of the first game, tied 4-4 in the 12th. On one hand, he's fresh and he can throw as long as this game goes, but on the other hand, you risk using him up to the point that he can't start the second game today.

Did LSU just win the CWS? Jeez.

Stony Brook just won't go away. I figured they would finally wilt after losing the resumed game, but instead, they came right back and beat LSU's ace that just got drafted fourth overall.

Arizona also became the first team to advance to Omaha today after they beat St. John's. The Johnnies had a 5-0 lead at one point in game one yesterday, but they just couldn't hang on and ended up losing in extra innings.

I'm a bit disappointed because I was pulling hard for St. John's. I think it would have been really good for college baseball if they had made it to Omaha being that college baseball hasn't really caught on in that part of the country. Stony Brook could still give the CWS a northern team, but I don't think them making it there would have the lasting impact that St. John's could have just because SJU is a solid program that could conceivably take the next step to being annual CWS contenders. I don't think SB has that upside.

    Bear Down.

(I went to Arizona State, but I didn't stick around long enough.)
