Anyone who thinks Noah for the 14th and 16th selection is a bad move is a complete and utter moron. For those of you debating that he doesn't make us a championship contender have such flawed logic it is laughable. It isn't like Noah is Kevin Garnett and at the end of his career. This guy is entering the prime of his career and is a center. This is the building block type player we need in order to finally have a good team. Noah, Dragic, Parsons is a solid foundation. Some of you really need to watch more basketball.

The Morey Rockets...and the vast majority of their fans...overestimated the distance between the Spurs of that time and a team led by Yao and McGrady.

A fan can personally choose to believe whether or not the Rockets were a Battier away from contending with the Spurs of 5 years ago. I never did. Especially since the other players on the court would have been Juwan Howard, Rafer Alston and a 48% FT showing Hayes.

We can discourse opinions of 5 years ago until heel freezes over. But two things are unquestionable. The Spurs got their Battier (Bowen) in free agency for $3.1M. And secondly, right now, Rudy Gay will net more in a trade than Hasheem Thabeet.

Oh. and Noah isn't walking through the home team door at the TC any time soon. :p

I'd take Noah for both picks all day. I also like the scenario of a trade up with Portland for Dalembert, Lowry and 16th..

I can see everyone is gearing up for disappointment. The draft and free agency might be the only time for excitement in regard to this team till the trade deadline. Get excited now or you may be waiting a year...we have plenty of options.

Exactly, that team couldn't even get out of the 1st round. We needed Ron Artest to finally get out of the 1st round.

That logic is why we always had losing teams in the playoffs and since.

I would punch myself in the face out of sheer joy if we got Noah for any combination of our assets.

I understand your point, but you could sign a center like Asik in the free agency and keep the picks for another improvement. This is really a good draft.

Asik was helping the Bulls more than Noah during a fair part of last season, that said by their own fans.

Also note that Noah gets 12 per year.

I would be happy with a healthy Noah, but it's not likely to happen.

Asik is a restricted free agent meaning Chicago will likely match any offer and he won't be going anywhere.

    Noah is Battier 2.0. He's underwhelming .

Bah, you talk as if Noah is a star center of some notable caliber. The young man even with Rose at point, is at best a 10 - 10 style center standing at 6'11 and average athletic ability being generous.

You are right, he isn't bad and could be used for a solid foundation, but that is what we already have right now anyway. What we need now are support beams to build a structure not more cement, Noah isn't a support beam, that is why they went and got Boozer who has under performed and that would be why they ship Noah out.

If the Rockets can't draft a quality big man to play C or backup C, why hurt your cap getting Noah, when you could sign someone for cheaper like Asik and use the picks on other things. We have other problems besides getting a big man with this roster and depending on how we handle them, the two picks and the cap flexibility may prove invaluable.

Asik is unproven. He also will demand around 7-10 million per year. I am not sure why this message forum is so in love with an unproven backup center that will demand around 8 million per year.

Also your claim that the bulls fans are in love with asik is just not true. Most people on their message forums do not want to give him more than 5 million per year.

I'd package Dalembert and # 16 for Noah, not anymore than that

I just don't see the point of giving up a pick for Noah when you could just draft an average big man with that pick.

I'd give them 16 + Scola or Dalembert for Noah all day.

Yes he is more or less an 11/11 type guy but have you actually watched him play? Centers that make the all defensive 2nd team do not grow on trees. In addition his tenacity and heart on the court can never be measured with statistics. When healthy the guy is an absolute beast out there on the hardwood. If a 14th and 16th selection is what it costs to attain a defensive specialist center entering the prime of his career..........so be it.

Couple of months ago Russilo was discussing how Noah is the best defensive floor general behind KG.

    I'll take that.

Key words. For future reference, these two words should never be used when trying to sell a player to the Rockets fans.

Last time i checked he has had no major injuries.....i could be wrong.

Also with that logic you wouldn't want a guy like dwight howard, chris paul, or blake griffin:confused:
