I wasn't talking about in China. I was talking about some of the tournaments he played in. Some country's were just not very good and had some small centers. I may have exaggerated a bit, but some country's may have been lucky to have a 6'9", or 6'10" player.
i know im just an excited fan who sticks up for him team at least once a day on this forum and i occasionally go to games to supportt my team. but my team has been blessed this year with YAO. i see it in his eyes. he is a flower waiting to blossom except the stem is growing fast and the flower will blossom early and represent other flowers that have blossomed beautifully. if i cant make this any easier ill just say this. if shaq can almost average 30 a game. yao can...dont say he cant. when he gets better....he'll take more shots.. steve will be the number 2 scorer on the team in time. yao will prolly average at least 30ppg in a season at least 3 times c mon he is not even in his prime yet. im not over pumped or over excited. watch this kid he is the next...."olajuwon"...the next "wilt"...the next..."jabbar" in fact he isnt even any of that he is YAO MING. and im not positive on what to expect but i do lean towards yao having an amazing career! go rox
You dream on. What about asking Francis switch to Chinese? He would be guaranteed a starting spot and the gold medal of Olympics could be Rockets's!!!
I personally I don't ever see him averaging more than 30 points per game. I'll buy the rebounds and I think he'll have about 6 assist per game but that 30 is just tough to believe. Don't get me wrong I hope he does, that'd be great for the time but I just don't see it happening.
I am kinda tired of hearing "Yao is tired" screams. He had two full days rest during Christmas and came out pretty flat. And this is the stretch of the Rockets schedule that is the lightest all year. Fatigue has nothing to do with his performance right not.
Links? Because your information doesn't jibe with what was found out in a previous thread. Unless something has changed, he does not have NT duties this year. I will try to find the thread that we figured it out in, but it will be difficult since the search function is off.
You have to qualify for every major tournament the year before. There are Olympics, WC and AG in even years so there are also qualifiers in odd years.
If there is only Olympics, Wang will be more than happy to serve Chinese National Bball Team. The problem is there are much more than you assumed. Asian Cup is an inevitable duty for Yao, which is in this summer.... and it is only one of the cases. Two years ago, Yao and Wang were even ordered to participated the University WC...... I think from this line you can understand why Wang refused to signed the contract. Otherwise, Wang will have to be back to China in any case if neccessary.... Asian cup for sure, and probably even University WC or sth like that......
Link is unnecessary here.... All the Chinese knows Yao has to play in the Asian Cup this year, which has been broadcasted by SINA for so many times...... Wang Zhizhi just showed his unwillingness to play in the Asian Cup, and then he was banned. Do you think Yao can be an exception? If he hasn't signed some contracts with China, he was not even allowed to join the NBA....
No, YOU are incorrect. If you stand on a position here, you must provide a link. We are not going to take your word for it. I will now provide my links. If you have information that shows that I am wrong, show me or shut up. I didn't say jack about him skipping ANYTHING, he has nothing to skip. That's my position and will remain so until you or someone else can provide V-E-R-I-F-I-A-B-L-E information saying otherwise.
yeah i wanna c the links. i bet yao can average 30 points per game in a season at least 1 time. if he doesnt have to put up with the chinese games alot. cuz i know he is tired out
He will never average more than 30 ppg over a season. Even Francis can't!!! How can Yao?!? Actually, if he was our primary option, yes. I believe he could. He only took nine shots last game...he made six of them. If he took...18 shots...not too many more...he would score 32 points!!! counting free throws and stuff. What about rebounds?!!? I would rather see Yao average 20ppg and 10rbg than just 30ppg and 5rpg. I don't know why. Double-Doubles just seem nice. If we passed to Yao every single time, he could have 10 assists per game!!! Triple-doubles!!! But that's impossible.
he is a ROOKIE, he is hitting the wall and still effective he has only been in this counrty for what 60 days? he'll do it watch.because starting next season he is our primary scorer
francis would still be averaging 30 plus like he was earlier in the season except for something big......uh duh yao started to score .
How about Yao going back to China just because he wants to. For vacation or for basketball he is gone during the off season he misses China and would like to go back every year. Like I said before this topic will be moot by the end of the NBA season.
lol...he misses China! Maybe he will have a month's vacation to see all his friends. Then he will return...
i really hate yao having to play for the chinese team every summer... what if he gets hurt? what if he blows out a knee?? he is not a machine, and i doubt that his body can hold up to that much constant playing! he just need to relax and work out on his summers off...
