I think you are correct. It's like watching "Hee Haw" when they sing "Doom, Despair and Agony" in the cornfield. It's so sad because you know Morey is going to screw it up so badly that you can't help but laugh.

It is a way to introduce yourself to players coming into the NBA.

What that means for most of us, is that this time of year offers a multitude of what-if and if-i-were-gm scenarios.

Moreover, the value of an draft pick pre-draft is more often than not worth substantially more than the player picked itself. It adds another layer to the arm chair GM game.

    and baseball blows.

Keeping up with the draft serves the same purpose as watching sports in general. It's entertaining. What other purpose does there need to be? We're talking about a game.

there are t shirt fans, good fans and DIE HARD fans.. anyone on here that is looking into draft picks, and trades for other guys to upgrade the team are DIE HARD, people that go to regular season games and cheer are good fans, and people that only show up IF we make the playoffs are t-shirt fans.. your friend is a good fan, you are DIE HARD.. it's not a waste of time. it's fun..

kinda like playing NBA2K12 or NCAA13. do you manage a career or just play the game and turn it off..

This goes for all sports not just basketball, but in Houston, more seasons than not, the draft is more exciting than the regular season.

The period between our annual early end to the season and the draft ranks as one of my favorite times of the year. Like some of you, it's when I get most interested in college basketball and the guys entering the draft. I love the whole conversation about moving up, or moving down, who we might, or might not target, possible draft day deals. It's a trip. I agree with A_3PO that the time between summer league and camp is when things slow down to a crawl. You pray for some nugget about the players working out in the offseason. Who's going to the late Pete Newell's big man camp? Who was able to get some sessions with Hakeem? Who's playing at Fonde? Who has put on muscle, or lost weight? It's a desert, with an oasis here and there. Yeah, this is a good time of the year.
