He had a good series but . .this is not the best I have seen him. Is this him 'deferring' to lebron or Is he on the OTHER SIDE of his career. . . . still good but . . .. best days behind him? Rocket River
maybe, maybe no he might have been injured. the problem is that he's always banged up come playoff time.
He was clearly injured throughout the playoffs. In the regular season, he was still a top five player. He'll be fine if he can get healthy.
Very hard to tell exactly what was going on with him - injury, decline, personal matter, Spoelstra issues, etc. However, it may have closed the argument over whether James and Wade could be equal partner co-headliners. James played the best postseason ball of his life with Wade stepping back as a second option (Celtics, Thunders series), and the Heat seemed to finally develop a dependable identity. Will be interesting to see what happens going forward. I think it did LeBron a lot of good to break through and succeed on his own - more aggressive, more determined, shedding a bit of the pressure anxieties. He'll be more dangerous moving forward no that he has a little more Kobe in his blood.
No offense RR, but why is this a debate? Wade is like Francis with a brain, he has skill but his go to move is dive into a lane of defenders and try to finish. He listens to jopatmc's mantra of "fall down 10x, get up 11" every single possession of every single game. He's falling apart at the seams as a result. Honestly, I think it was good that they won a ring in year two, I don't know how much gas he has left in the tank, dude was already inconsistent this year.
He's still a great player, but he is obviously in decline -- which is totally expected since he just turned 30.
He's been going through a bitter custody battle the past few months. His ex-wife wouldn't let him see his kids, and shes currently in jail for attempted child abduction. That's why he ran to hug his kids as soon as the game ended.
Guy played great with an injury and personal issues. Wade loves his kids and couldn't see them. He's Robin for the next 4-5 years and that's just fine. I think the Heat win the next 3.
His window is closing as a superstar... He makes the toughest shots Ive seen next to Kobe.... He still has about 2 years left of superstar play before he declines badly.... But he is Miami Heat basketball, so he's going nowhere
That is kind of the point They are all signed for another 3 yrs At the end of those 3 yrs. . . . Will they be looking like KG, Allen and Peirce? Shells of their former selves? Of the BIG THREE . . .D Wade seems to be the one I would pick to decline the most. Rocket River
i dont think he's in decline, he came out of the same draft as james his numbers are still amazing, and is still an elite player
Id still take him. He can be in decline and still effective like Kobe has been for the last few years.
Wade is in decline, but is still easily one of the best wing players in the league. If he keeps himself in good shape, and sort go to way that Kobe and MJ went. He'll be fine for another good 4-6 seasons. He won't decline, like T-Mac did, since I think he takes better care of himself.
Yeah his ex was just arrested for kidnapping their kids -- i'm not sure how you play through something so intense and maintain focus.
