Personally, I think Melo is good bang for the buck as a prospect... A Camby/Melo duo with maybe Dmo filling in a couple minutes aint bad...

So, good-bye to Sam I Am Dalembert. Hands of stone.

Good. With the buyout that gives us, what?, $6+ million in cap space.

Would hope that we could trade him for something versus paying his buyout...

It isn't my money, so it's easy for me to say, but the buyout is...what? One million? One million five? Frees up 6-ish million. Like paying him $8.5 million for one year's work.

Maybe he got pissy when they entrusted minutes at the 5-spot to a one-armed Marcus Camby.

His contract was designed to be traded after one season anyway. Partially guaranteed contracts make easy trade chips from a money standpoint so the other team doesn't have to take on as much salary.

If the Rockets make a big trade, I'd be very surprised if Dalembert's not among the players involved. But if the Rockets opt for a FA player, like Asik, then look for him simply bought out.

If no other (pre-July 1) trades involving Dalembert materialize, then I think it makes all kinds of sense to trade him (with his partial guarantee of $1.5M for 2012-13) plus cash (say, $1.75M to $2M) to Sacramento, which has more than enough 2011-12 cap room to absorb Dalembert's $7M salary figure for 2011-12.

Of course, that also assumes that the Rockets don't need that cash for other draft day trades. (Under the new CBA, teams may only spend an aggregate of $3M in cash on all trades from July 1 to June 30. The Rockets, I believe, still have the full $3M allotment to spend for 2011-12.)

    This guy? After rebounding?
    http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Drew-Gordon-5158/

Interviews have no bearing on a player's basketball ability or whether he can adjust to a professional setting, ie keep out of trouble off the court.

All it's good for is determining if the guy has the potential to be good company on the bus/plane.

I wouldn't mind the Rockets drafting Fab Melo.

Being an Orange fan I've seen this kid play and Houston could do a lot worse.

If Houston keeps their current picks and he's still there at #16 I'd say grab him...

Doesn't look like MKG is working out with us:

    Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider

Workouts: MKG - Wizards (6/15), Bobcats (6/18), Cavs (6/20) | Beal - Wizards (6/14), Cavs (6/16), Bobcats (6/18). Both are done working out

why aren't more people talking about fab melo? i think he'd be a solid pick if we still have one of our picks in the teens.
